Is wealth what they're demonstrating? I thought it was Abu Dhabi's wealth they're demonstrating, since that's who they have to turn to every time they do idiotic things like this.

Not really, but this is a necessary expense. You have to have a Bentley or a Porsche in order to be taken seriously over there, you know. You can't pull over a Land Cruiser riding on two wheels with a Honda, now can you?

Any chance these are some of the many cars "dropped" at the airport by expats, under the threat of debtors prison from crushing debt, as they flee the city-state?

I notice the Russian planes all have engines above the wings. Maybe landing without landing gear is a feature, not a bug?
