I felt that New Vegas refined some mechanics in leveling the player. Less like a walking tank although still extremely powerful when fully leveled. I also like the introduction [reintroduction] of the hardcore mode where sleep and food were required.

With the gamepad I can't stop playing Monster Hunter. It gives the feel of "I can get a quick match/game in" before I leave for something or go to bed.
Exactly sometimes I do mute everyone in lobbies because I don't feel like hearing anyone speak sometimes. I know some of my friends do this as well.
I agree, the entire industry looked to play it safe at E3 in regards to game franchises. I'm thinking rising dev cost meant less room for experimentation in case of failure. I mean look at the new IP's they were military/space shooters or a twist on a zombie games.
