Twiki was a bit passive-aggressive, tbh.

Wait, so this is a Star Wars property that won’t have Threepio wandering through a background scene, or a trophy from that dead Jedi sitting as a paperweight on someone’s desk?

You said, “Even Tolkien criticized attempts to apply modern racial or cultural groupings against the races/species/groups he created in his literary works (that ultimately were big inspirations behind the races of D&D).”

This article is measured, cogent, informative, even-handed, and really well written. I’ve been thinking about this stuff for a while, and still I think I learned stuff from reading it.

It’s early on with the 6a for me, but I’m loving it.  Possibly just because it’s so much better than the Umidigi I had before.  I agree about the fingerprint scanner, though.  Battery’s been good so far, but again it’s early days.

No thanks. I just upgraded to a Pixel 6A from about a decade of cheap Chinese Androids (each lasting two or three years) and the 6A is AMAZING in contrast. The battery! The photography! The screen! The responsiveness! The things-actually-work-right!

Well, um, obviously I meant the other end of the gate.  Where it opens.  Just above Orion’s armpit.  Tears in rain, mumble mumble.

I can’t even make out where the c-beams are.

It’s a valid complaint, despite some naysayers. There was a discussion in a thread in morning spoilers this week about the lack of any deep coverage of Sandman, and it sure is a ... stark contrast.

This conversation has been interesting to watch, especially because of the insight you’re giving into your work and into the decisions about what you will or can cover. I guess I would like to see some think-y pieces about adaptation (not nitpicks, as you say), and maybe some smart stuff about the enduring influence

Fair point.  I don’t want the kid to feel bullied after all.

Yeah, this seems like a famous person non-problem really.

Based on my own experience, the Golden Age of Spider-man is about ten or eleven years old. Whatever incarnation Peter is in at that time in your life is often the real one for you.

Man, if a dumb old white guy like me can be inspired by Ms. Nicholl’s legacy, I can’t begin to imagine how important she was to people who looked like her and shared her struggles.  She was nothing short of beautiful and brilliant!

Your mileage obviously varies, but I did not find Hickman’s stories here to be all that engaging. Outrageous, sure, but lacking in character and heart. It kept reading like a series of treatments for stories that he couldn’t be bothered to actually write.

I don’t think Krakoa will ever fit in. Hickman’s wild ideas have kind of broken the X-Men for now. He pushed his wild, world-changing ideas so far that if they are kept in continuity, they can’t help but completely change the entire planet so that it is no longer “the world outside your window” and can never be so

It’s trolling.  It’s just really high level trolling, and he rolled a 20 on this one.

You’re kinda right. At the very least, he should warn the Federation that the outpost will be in danger at that moment, and save everyone there.

AND he's stolen Metron's chair. Are we gonna see Darkseid as Baron Harkonnen?

It’s enough for me. Actually, I could even take a little more. When you say “objectively true” what objective facts are you using to make that judgment? Is it profits? I’ll admit I don’t know what the profits are or how to judge whether or not they’re good enough, but I’d love to hear it if you have such wisdom.
