Yeah, that arm-wavy thing he does when he walks is awesome, even if it doesn’t seem like it would ever evolve, as it doesn’t seem to do much for balance. It still gives an awesome sense of alien-ness within a humanoid form.

Agreed on pretty much everything. Though as to captaincy, I’m happy for Burnham and Mariner to stay as they are for a while. Better story that way. And Saru’s growth has been a joy to watch.

I definitely think you’re right about racism and sexism contributing to the hatred of Discovery.
First of all, I love that you repurposed the analogy and turned it back on me. It makes me happy to be in the discussion.
I get what you’re saying, it’s just that I don’t think it needed to be said every single time there was a Discovery post.
If every time there was a post about a use for brussels sprouts, someone came on and said, “Man, forget brussels sprouts, modern mustard is a way better use of the mustard plant,” I’d be annoyed at them. Kale, sprouts, and cauliflower are cultivars of wild mustard, and mustard is actually more like wild mustard, but…
You know who I miss? I miss those people who butt in on every Discovery post to say how that non-Star Trek show is a way better Star Trek show.
And to be clear: I would have paid for home release.
At this point, Wonder Woman, Dune, and Bond? I’ve decided not to see you in the theatres just to punish your studios for not releasing you when I was in lockdown and needed you. I would have paid. But after waiting this long? You either come into my home or you can stay in the theatres forever for all I care.
Agree.
Is this it? Well... if this really is it, at least I was up there for a while. I tried to do some things that mattered. I loved. I was loved. Here comes the ground, I suppose.
“perhaps it will be my friend.”
I really like the balance of correction and empathy in your comments. Thanks for bringing some kindness to the interwebs today.
What a great way to explain it! I mean, I doubt the people who need the lesson are going to listen to you, but I liked it and I applaud you for doing the work of educating the interwebs.
All these competing ideas... sooner or later, someone will have to tinder their resignation...
The new discoveries did spark some ideas.
It’s been the subject of a longstanding flame war on the anthropology boards.
