Yep.

One of my favorite movies of all time. :)

I hate to say it, but y’all are just collateral damage. Trump is willing to trot out Trudeau as the bogeyman, but he really doesn’t care about trade with Canada much, if at all.

This a company can’t just spin up a factory overnight. Even if they have existing factories that are idle, it takes time to retool them. That’s not weeks it’s months or years. Starting a factory from scratch that’s longer than Trump will be in office. And want to guess where a lot of the big industrial equipment that

the smoot hawley tariff nonsense was passed in 1930, after the great depression had already started. To be fair, there had been a long series of expensive and disastrous tariffs reaching back 30 years at that point because the wealthy wanted more and gave zero shits about the damage they caused to the regular folks.

The cultural damage is the point. The cruelty is the point. The folks who are behind this are the same folks who fought civil rights, who fought the new deal, who thought that slavery was fine, who thought that the trail of tears was a fine idea and who probably thought the war for independence was a terrible idea.

It’s hard not to believe there’s foreign influence behind it all, that the goal is to weaken the U.S. And there’s been actual evidence of that over the past few years, that for some reason just makes no difference. Back in 2016 it was clear in the internet’s domain name system that the Trump organization’s servers

Someone watched “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” recently.

What I don’t get, is what are republicans trying to achieve through tariffs in the end? Or any of their current policies? As cruel as they are, I don’t believe they are actually stupid enough not to see the long-term cultural and economic damages. They must have hard cold calculation not only to offset the damages, be

Trumpster has no idea what a trade deficit is or how tariffs work, and he’s going to wreck the economy as a result. The best case scenario is that the rest of the world manages to silo us off economically, like a leper island. Otherwise this dumbass trade war will have global consequences. And between this, the

Orange Foolius is already on the hook for extending the fat cat tax cuts from his first term. Is still fundraising on it. Trump may sell this as “Look what I’m doing for you” to his lower-income faithful, but don’t fool yourself. His MAGAt faithful will be fighting for table scraps, if even that.

The other option is that he uses it to offset tax breaks for his hordes of MAGAts - “see, I’m saving you from those higher prices by cutting your taxes!” - while simultaneously setting a trap for the next administration: to get rid of the tariffs, they either need to raise taxes (which will help them lose) or cut govt

I’m glad he’s going all-out so soon - it means people who think they want his fascist policies will be personally affected all the quicker, and that’s when sociopaths like Dump voters suddenly start caring.

The fat creamsicle doesn’t give a flying fart if he angers the poor or the working class - they basically don’t exist to him. But if you’ve looked at the markets today, now he’s upsetting the wealthy investors, and that may bite him in the flabby buttocks.

This is so fucking stupid. All of it.

Don’t get this twisted: Trump’s scattershot tariffs have absolutely nothing to do with world trade. That’s the misdirection play. Trump’s tariffs make no sense in terms of international trade because that’s not the purpose of them.

So, we’re gonna fuck up the auto industry on the american continent while china’s auto industry gets stronger and stronger because as it sits now, they don’t need us at all. We’d be a fairly tiny addition to their market. And europe can focus on the chinese market and forget us, as again, we are a drop in the bucket

Reverse: acquitted....did not know this. Purposefully flew 360 ft. from the ground in Italian ski country, destroyed evidence, and lied on the stand.
