I did my best to dissuade him. I really tried.
As David said, I (the John from Indy) did my best to dissuade him. I really tried. We spent quite a bit of time in Toledo at the Jeep Fest talking about fate and logistics.
The salvage (and subsequent rebuilt) title hurts its value, but that’s only a concern if you intend to sell it, but that diminished value is just added assurance that you’ll never sell it. It’ll always be better than the cash you could get for it.
You had an opportunity to feature Hell, Michigan in this article
When dreams are this attainable and modest, I guess disappointment are few?
That’s an almost fully functioning, rust free Jeep!
Wait, you now own an almost fully functioning Jeep? Miracles never cease.
I am getting a lot of right-wing garbage people replying to this who can’t distinguish between “prisons” and “American prisons”. One thing I’ve learned from several years online and trying to have conversations with conservative wingnuts... Yay for “Dismiss”.
I abhor this eye for an eye BS we have for a penal system. Without rehabilitation there is no resolution, and it sounds like the guards are just as bad as the inmates.
What you speak of exists in our screwed up system, but Cosby’s past that level. They’ve definitely thrown Cosby to the wolves, sending someone convicted of what he has been without taking into the fact he’s old as dirt. But honestly, screw him. He doesn’t deserve our minimum security. He’s a violent predator. Violent…
Sadly that’s a part of their problem - hard to reflect and repent if you fear someone exploiting your weaknesses on taxpayer dime and treat you exactly how you treated those on the outside. Not saying it should all be cuddles and treats but education, counseling, not being used as cheap state labor/low bid contracting…
Seriously. People should serve their time without fear of being murdered in prison. Prison is where you pay your penance for your crimes against society. You should be (if at all possible) rehabilitated and returned to society a better person. How does this violent, dangerous prison accomplish that?
Just cuz you gave money to causes you decided were worthy DOESN’T wipe away your guilt.
Cosby has money though. I’m sure his people have the guard staff on payroll already.
Ugh, no winners here. Cosby is a world class asshole, but it sounds like half the staff needs to be in their own cells. It’s not like these guys have a lot of possessions, so fucking with their stuff (especially religious items) is especially cruel.
PSA: The fact that Cosby is a demonstrably terrible person doesn’t make prison rape jokes ok
Well said! The apologists need their moral compasses recalibrated! Just cuz time passed, doesn’t mean we SHOULD forget. Just cuz you gave money to causes you decided were worthy DOESN’T wipe away your guilt. Imagine what this role model, this inspirational/aspirational Black Man could have shown the world and the…
I’m happy Cosby was found guilty, but American prisons are hellscapes that nobody deserves. And court costs? Yes, this particular rapist can afford that easily, but that’s just another bullshit cost that a) passes the costs of tax cuts on to the less fortunate, b) lets politicians show they are “tough on crime”, and…
Countdown to the first inmate to inquire about Cosby’s pudding pop in 3, 2, 1.....
