The shard actually dislodged itself before I got there to the doctor. But it had actually corroded while it was in my eye, hence the need for the drill.

Heh, had to be done :)

A few extra inches usually does. Couldn't resist.

7. Jackstands, motherfucker. Not cinder blocks. Not some hunks of wood you have stacked up. Jack-fucking-stands.

four prong sparkplugs might not be worth it, but iridium ones are

I mean, they do have design limits. That was defiantly an Impact socket job. Then you chuck the impact socket at the head of the idiot that torqued the shit out of your lugs in the first place. Two Uses!

It had a Dana 60 full-floating rear axle (looks like this)

He didn't hand torque to spec he just impacted them on and called it good. Lucky you didn't have a broken stud.

I wear contacts so #10 is a given. Nothing sucks worse than getting shit on your eyes while wearing contacts, trust me.

I had a red top, never had a problem with it, even being in a car that sat all winter. Lasted 9 years like that before it wouldn’t take a charge anymore and I replaced it. Granted, a lot can change in 10 years, so they may be junk now.

I have a reminder scar under my left eye from where I was in a hurry, slipped, and stabbed a long flathead screwdriver just under my eye. I was a few millimeters from wearing an eye-patch.

#9 is the best

My wife got new tires on her E46 - a few weeks later I replaced the pads and rotors and I bent the factory BMW lug wrench trying to remove the wheels. Standing on the end of a 1 foot lug wrench, jumping up and down, and the thing BENT at a 30 degree angle. And then snapped a 3/8" Harbor Freight breaker bar. And then

All great

I’m mildly allergic to something in motor oil. It makes my skin itch like crazy.

I keep a wide variety of lengths of pipe around. When I was changing the brake line on top of the rear end pumpkin in my Roadmaster, the only wrench I could fit on it was a 1/4" drive socket, which didn’t have enough leverage. I slid a small length of 1/2" conduit over the handle, and that extra few inches of length

Carb cleaner just stings for a few minutes.... it’s things like aluminum shavings from grinding and the such that is really bad. At least ferrous metals will rust away.

Needed a beefy breaker bar + a hollow 4 foot steel tube to break the hellish bolt holding on the front sprocket of my Kawi Z1000.

#5... Deep cycle batteries are not meant for cars. You need a SLI (starting, lights, ignition) battery for a car. Your starter needs a TON of power in a very small amount of time. Deep cycle batteries hold more power total, so they’re great for running your RV’s interior lights or your boat’s radio or whatever, but

When I worked with metal this happened every day, grinding or machining it always finds a way around goggles.
