The Renaults were known for rusting out just as bad as a Japanese car, though the AMC built Alliance’s were better. The biggest problem was that if you used it hard, things like the front seat track broke and other “body & trim items” failed. Basically they were a little too cheap and the sheet metal was a gauge too

If your isn’t a rustbucket & will run for at least another 30k miles then it is a fair price...

American automakers have produced cars that are durable and reliable if you buy the right model with the right options. The ad states that it is only rear wheel drive which is also a plus for maintenance costs. So it will likely go at least 300k miles with proper maintenance. The biggest issue is the fuel economy, as

If Jeep made an affordable Wrangler that ran on LPG but without the all extras making it more expensive they could have a best seller. Of course they would also need to address the parts that commonly break. Hot dip galvanizing the frame, suspension, etc. would also help. Instead they turned it into an upscale product

So you want deliver drivers to suffer from life changing injuries because of a ten mile per hour crash??? What is wrong with them using something like the smallest Ford Transit / eTransit van???

How exactly is making kei cars legal in the US a good idea??? In an accident they are probably the deadliest car you can import under the 25 year rule. This is why most nations with a national health system don’t allow you to import a Kei car and drive it on public roads. As everyone else will end up paying for your

About maximising mpg:

My guess is less than half of theoretical limit, probably around a quarter...

I agree with you on everything but the speed. As the faster a car travels the greater the aerodynamic drag. If you travel at 45 mph or less the drag is relatively small, but it increases at an ever faster rate as youdrive faster...

My experience with servicing Japanese cars is that if it is a “dealer only” part, expect it to cost up to 25 times the cost of the same type of part from the dealer only on an American car. But if you google the part number you can find a good used one for about half...

There is a “standardized way” of dealing with battery fires of White Nationalist Motors products. But it requires a backhoe or trackhoe & a large fire truck. Simply dig a hole, place the burning EV in it & keep filling the hole with water, for up to two weeks...

Who makes a much stronger alloy rims than stock for my 2007 Mustang GT???

Steel wheels are tougher and can be straightened. The only advantage of alloy wheels is that

How to address this self driving bs. We should have the self driving test / game, which involve screw gunning various “Tech Bros” to the front bumper of their fastest product, so Musk gets attached to the fastest Tesla they make. Once all the oranges are glued to the steering wheel or other safety defeats installed,

Now you have a good idea. Exactly!!!

As impressive as it is, anything that helps White Nationalist Motor is a not a exactly good thing in my book. My life as someone who is mixed was much easier & safer before White Nationalists like Donald Trump & Elon Musk openly encouraged racism. I wonder if the Indigenous people they met along the way know that the

Agreed except a sports car can have two or four doors. The Ford 500 [racing galaxy] had rear doors, but no back seat and they were bolted shut...

My 2007 Mustang GT Premium with a manual transmission is a sports car and a very nice one at that. It even handles & stops, unlike most 1960's Muscle Cars. Getting it in near mint condition for $18k during the pandemic with only 13k miles on it is entry level for a good used car...

Of course the Mustang GT is a Sports Car. My 2007 GT Premium is a sports car, and even has three pedals as I never have bought an automatic. It handles well, stops well and is faster than 95% of the cars on the road.
