Oh Rashomon, just one of the about 12 movies from Kurosawa I would qualify as “God Damn Masterpiece”.

I thought the fight scenes in the 70s Musketeers movies were the most realistic. They look like they were trying to kill each other by any means possible. And Christopher Lee was a great theatrical swordsman and a skilled fencer, but he was very convincing here with the “realistic” style:

From Gladiator to Braveheart, most historical fiction about fighting with swords is kinda wrong, influenced more by performance art than how people actually fought each other with blades.

Because you hope he hits enough to overcome his defensive shortcomings.
