Hot Rod did an article on this method in their Winter 2007 Paint & Body edition (cover has a '57 Chevy and a hot blonde both with flames painted on.) No online version (I checked.) I just picked it up the other day, and they painted a '62 Falcon; it looks pretty good, but sounds like a lot of work. To do it right

There he goes on his final jump, into eternity. Godspeed, good man.

You do keep your posting privileges, no? Hope so dude. Best of luck to you in the new gig. And congrats on the success of the site. It's a rare day that I don't check it at least once, and now my 18 year old son has caught the fever and does the same. Wow; multi-generational readership. Did you ever think you'd hit

What could be more hellish than wood body members? And besides, when was the last time you saw eBay Motors photos taken in a studio?

That is one classy car; always liked the chubby-looking '57's.

"Bite The Banana"? — Is that's the name for this monstrosity?

Those XMODS must be a little deceiving; they look too small to be much fun for an RC car, or at least that's what my kids told me. They saw the ad in a flyer for the Bumblebee model, saved up some allowance money, but changed their minds when they saw its size.

Cyclone / Cyclone for me, thanks. Mounted vertically, mid-ships, just behind the front seat, with the roof cut away to make room for the thing. That way you've got several cylinders hanging out in the wind for cooling, and for showing off the chrome exhaust & turbo where the rear window used to be.

If you want to impress the shallow no-minds from high school, go with the Vette. Most of the classmates that ignored you in school are so self-absorbed and stupid they won't know there is anything unique about the Jeep. Even if they did, that wouldn't likely change their opinion of you.

The listing lives! jimmythefly, you're a genius! That Packard looks like a real gem. I love that grill!

@racerx: That was... Gory. Reminds me of a buddy who had a deer jump through the rear side window on a Suburban, exiting out the back window. Blood & bits of guts everywhere in the back, but at least there was only one large piece of critter outside the truck.

@MrEvil: My question exactly!

The only surprise in this announcement is that it's Moeller who is expressing substantial doubt.

@POLAR: Number 2 automobile energy source!

I read about something like this several years ago (wrote about it here); the outfit is called Changing World Technologies, and they've been converting select waste products (like meat processing leftovers) into oil for a few years now. They're not saying how profitable it is, but it's there.

They might have a tough time hiring. What a shitty job.

It makes sense and all, but the Chrysler Challenger just doesn't sound right. And the Chrysler Viper? Nuh uh. BSAKat's suggestion makes more sense to me, especially when legacy names are involved.

The Simca; it'd be truly project car hell, plus it's far more unique than the Datsun.

As several have said before me, if I were buying for a daily driver, I'd go for the Vette. But if it were only for the occasional sunny day drive, I'd go Viper.
