The animals we eat are also "genetically modified" - i.e. domesticated. They are VERY different compared with what the nomadic early humans ate.

She didn't even touch on veganism - which made me glad because it's not a "diet" for me either. It's for animals.

Cummunity?

A senior workmate accused me of upspeak (there is a bit of public speaking in my role). Perhaps he also thought it was a symptom of low confidence. If so then how about you don't point it out, as that just makes someone more self-conscious? Thereby making them inflect upwards even more? But yeah he was male, educated,

Or an Irish person?

I'm sorry, "Agusta Thorbergsdottir"? Erm, you don't get to be judgey about names. I lived in Sweden for a while and certainly notice that they also seem to all have names from a pretty narrow list.

Excited about the shoes. Am wearing Chucks at my own wedding.

I was gonna say "nah, not me" but I think I have certain pressures (though certainly not professional ones) which cause me to wear make up sometimes and not bother other times. I think my standard is actually that I will wear make up when I expect that others will be wearing it (e.g. social situations) and not at

Woops, I expressed this exact same sentiment in my comment. :P

"The spirit that exudes?" Just the sort of thing you'd expect to hear from a ghost fucker, I suppose.

Ah, but Taulogo still wins Stupidest Name. :P

It always makes me think of that quote from Whitney where her psychiatrist is like "What kind of narcissist holds a party to celebrate the fact that they're having a party?!"

Then no, cus HFR was only available in 3D. Was a a weird experience to be sure.

No shit - front page of the Dominion Post (Wellington, New Zealand) today: http://www.stuff.co.nz/dominion-post/news/8135043/Happy-new-year-New-Year

Parts of it was CGI - and for those parts they used our hedgehogs as models . But there were one or two bits with real hedgehogs and those bits were actually our hedgehogs. Did you watch it on HFR? I'm not sure if that made it more obviously CGI, or less obvious.

This is tricky, the film and books (and most fantasy) are based on Germanic/Scandinavian folklore, so Elves, Goblins, Dwarves etc. are white - because the people who made them up were also white and probably never met another colour in their lives.

The Maori fullas all end up playing Orcs... :(

I work with the hedgehogs from the first scene with Radagast, be assured that although he himself was not a female the hedgehogs indeed are. That's something, right? Sorry I just wanted to drop that I know the hedgehogs from the Hobbit.

It does and with 13 days to spare. You win. :)
