BR2049 was visually gorgeous and lush, and leaned into DV’s strengths, and weaknesses, as a director.

I wholeheartedly agree and with those scenes and the drama about Barry trying to save her, this raised my connection to the movie and to his character. It was a strong pull that I think really worked above other hero’s motivations.
Loved The Flash, as well! Saw it multiple times in the theater. I’ve definitely issues with it, too, but I find it remarkably disarming throughout.
Ah Tucker and Dale, three fourths of a good movie.
I think it would be funnier if they played it like Tucker and Dale Vs Evil. The sloth wouldn’t actually be killing anyone, but everyone blames it for all the deaths and in attempting their ridiculous plans to trap and destroy it they end up dying horribly.
Assuming everything was translated correctly, the man being quoted isn’t a writer, but a producer who’s trying to defend his decisions on the show. Sure, the writers, by definition, write the script, but they’re usually working within the constraints set by their superiors - the showrunners and producers who decide…
Oh, no, it’s WAY worse than that. Just listen to him:
Jesus Christ just reading through that was so insane that for a moment I was worried that I was having a stroke.
Generate those clicks somehow. Anger anger anger
Oh, so this guy didn’t even watch it? I stopped reading as soon as I saw that. I have complaints with this show, but to hear someone whine who never even watched an episode is a bigger waste of time than the show.
“I’ve yet to watch the show.”
Personally I didn’t think this show was awful as such. It certainly missed out on a whole lot of potential it had going for it though. Spy thriller genre, what’s not to like there? Skrulls infiltrating the world’s governments, wow. Serious heavy stuff.
This is definitely nitpicky, but only Phase 1 has actually ended with a tentpole Avengers film. Phase 2 ended with Ant-Man and Phase 3 ended with Far From Home.
Take this for what it’s worth, because I’ve yet to watch the show
Would really like it if the the writer of articles like this would at least watch the show. I think it is an awful show but that’s because I watched it and formed an opinion.
I mean, it’s got nothing on the original Secret Invasion it’s based on, where it revealed that the Mockingbird who died was a Skrull all along, despite the fact that Mockingbird had been interacted with in the afterline multiple times in the decade and a half between her death and it turning out that was a Skrull.
Does this site’s writers watch anything anymore? This is another article where the author admits to having watched the thing. It's not entirely germaine to the topic but it undercuts the credibility of the article.
Though another thing in this article that doesn’t track is the presumption that Skrulls couldn’t fake the need to use the leg assistance braces/devices.
Also. wearing a hospital gown only means that he was in a hospital at the time they took him (and didn’t dress him, I guess). He could have gone to the hospital multiple times with his injuries. Even after Endgame. The fact that he needed help walking and had some leg function when released from the Skrull pod, but…
What else doesn’t make a lick of sense is that IO9 once again offers series analysis from a writer who admits mid-article that they haven’t seen the show.
