Unless they nerf her harder than anyone has ever nerfed anything or they pull some “the powers were only temporary” retcon, I genuinely don’t know how giving a brand new character no one has any attachment or investment in the combined powers of every single MCU hero AND villain doesn’t become a problem immediately.

That would require anyone left working here to know about comic books.

So nothing comics related happened at Comic-Con? Or is this site just not covering it?

Anyone who wants to buy this has a scat fetish, guaranteed. Fuckin robot squatting over your cup and shitting out coffee for you, what idiot designed this?

Was Robert Downey Junior in that many cameos though? Beyond Iron Msn and Avengers film, he appeared in Incredible Hulk, Spider-Man Homecoming, and Civil War and that’s pretty much it, no? Am I forgetting something? He’s namechecked in a lot of movies, but he didn’t show up much. Which kind of contains its own lesson -

The ineptitude at Warner Brothers is STUNNING in its consistency. What’s truly bonkers is it doesn’t seem to matter who’s in charge. It’s literally been this way for decades.

Imagine going back to 1993 and telling a 12-year old that, in 30 years, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America, and Thor would dominate the box office while the best showing from DC is fucking Aquaman.

To be fair, he hasn't filmed it yet.

Bad take is bad, feel bad.

Don’t forget “grabbing an oil tanker to use as a baseball bat to slam a kaiju”. Also, mad props to Idris Elba for making “Today, we are cancelling the apocalypse!” sound like an actually badass line and not the absolute high camp it actually is.

That’s nit picking. Are you claiming Tony Stark is unpowered? There’s no practical difference between innate powers and artifact powered powers in the MCU.

COVID really did a number of the film/tv industry (in addition to, you know, everyone and everything else).

Thing is, this isn’t what the headline implies though. This has nothing to do with Marvel failing or flailing. Avengers got pushed back due to the writers strike. Other stuff was pushed back due to the pandemic as well. If SC2 can’t come out til after avengers because the story has post Avengers elements, it has to

If they could have resisted giving Shang Chi powers, when for the vast majority of his existence NOT having powers was kind of the point, they would have less of a FX crunch for his films and more tonal variety from the standard MCU fare.  But,no, fucking light beams it is.

It’s not completely unprecedented. The MCU has done 5 and 6 year gaps between solo films several times.

That’s just part of the Jimmy experience, get transformed into a giant turtle, marry a gorilla, become an old man

I thought I’d give this a try but I lasted all of 2 minutes when Clark being a grown man still didn’t know how to wake up without smashing his alarm clock, still didn’t know how to use the faucet without breaking it, and still didn’t know how to put on sneakers without destroying them. Just stupid and I want my 2

I distinctly recall less ‘pew pew pew’ and explodery bits in the books...”

I’m a big fan of scifi books and movies and such. I mention this because, out of all the different books and adaptations I’ve seen, Foundation is probably the only one where I think the TV adaptation is better than the original book.

I think your subtitle is misleading, he’s writing Fury to where he needs to be in The Marvels according to quote you used. I think that counts towards caring about continuity.
