FUN FACT! Ford's midsize wore three names in 1970: Torino, Fairlane, and Falcon, although the Falcon name was for the pillared 2-door, which made it much more of a sleeper when properly equipped.

I have nothing to say, so I'll post an odd, random picture.

I know. The pic I posted is the stock one (identical to the one in my parents' '70 Country Squire) but the one in the ad is off-center. The spoke is lower in the axis, while the regular one is dead-center.

By the way, what's up with that wonky steering wheel? It just looks...wrong.

"The Torino name debuted in 1962 as a range topper for the Fairlane line."

.

DRL's, fine and dandy. Can't somebody come up with something that doesn't look so disco-ish?

Oh, thank God it has LED accent lighting. I was so afraid that we weren't ever going to see another new car adorned with them.

Call me silly, but I think the Ritmo (Strada here) was better looking with its 5 MPH bumpers.

Those aren't known for good traction, so magnets may help that problem, especially in wet conditions. Of course, you'll be driving @ 5MPH on your bumpstops, but that's the price you pay for safety.

And the cat's in the cradle with the silver spoon...

On my hard drive at home, I have a pic of a Taurus with an ironing board in lieu of its front bumper. I'll see if I can find it later.

What about storm grates and manhole covers?

Would that work if you're approaching an A8 or Corvette?

I remember when the Chevelle Laguna came out (I'm old. Shut up) and was amazed that GM managed to design a front end that looked like it had pretty much nothing for a bumper, yet still met the then-new 5 MPH standard. Why can't anybody do that nearly 40 years later?

I was at a discount/closeout/salvage/almost a flea market store recently and saw a bunch of Hot Wheels that had copyrights from the mid-90's on them. I think they were a buck each. Didn't get any tho, since I'm not a Hot Wheels guy.

In New Hampshire, Walgreen's sells beer and wine, so you can take care of both errands at once.

I'm not sure if that's good or bad.

The one who'll someday employ the kid who picked out the Matchbox forklift?
