I think we agree. I'm more discerning than the average reader I suppose in that I usually read multiple reviews before buying a game. Kotaku matches my philosophy except that they still publish a ridiculous binary that is increasingly just "yes" 90% of the time. Take today's review of Splinter Cell, for example. They

I was originally fine with the Kotaku format, but it's becoming difficult to compare games across formats for me. A "yes" in my book should be an 8 or better. A "yes" here seems to mean just that the game is functioning as promised (and even that is questionable here).

A Metacritic of every Kotaku review: YES!

The gangbang at 1:19 is particular impressive, and themed for the level as well. Nice stuff.

Look up the difference between a publisher and a developer.

Maybe true, please enlighten me

How does the parody "highlight the difference between the male and female groping"?

When I'm forced to change that tag as well, I'll assume that's the reason...

My original xbl gamertag was "Cancer10". I can count on one hand the number of times somebody I played against was "offended" by it, and those were typically people who lost to my team and were just talking trash. Overall, it prompted little discussion.

Had to look up "Bobbin Threadbare". There aren't a lot of video game references that I'm too young for, but that is one of them. :P

I rocked the invisible man face for the majority of my play through. Sort of hurt the immersion to have that glitch front and center, though.

He won a Big Two tournament with a Phoenix Wright team. Context is everything though in this case.

The girl is X-23. The other one is Jason Schreier.

Tiny? It was the biggest tournament pot of the year...

It's a tough problem to fix. In reality, tournament organizers already have discretion to DQ. They just don't DQ for collusion to split a pot, currently, because there is no precedent for it. This rule gives them some cover.

well, they knew the match was thrown, what's the point of commentating a fake match.

The difference between 1st and 2nd at VxG was $4,000. That's bigger than the 1st place prize for marvel at Evo. So I think Chris probably would have cared about the difference between 1st and 2nd, yeah.

"Phoenix Wright in Grand Finals? OBJECTION!" - Shoryuken, yesterday.

Glad to see you guys covering this, huge news in the FGC. As for the rule, I'm for it. I hate the anti-climactic pot split at the end of a good tournament when it results in a match of essentially random teams. I didn't tune in to see Chris G run his Haggar team.

Oh yeah, I'm with you. I don't think Nintendo has played out this console generation particularly well. Their only hope is that manufacturing costs are reduced to a point where they can undercut both the Xbox 1 and the PS4 by Christmas, selling the console cheaper and at a profit, with a huge push of AAA titles to
