This makes it nearly impossible to spin the Sessions vote as anything other than a referendum on the Muslim ban. You can’t claim to oppose the ban and vote to confirm him, okay? Looking at you, Graham and McCain. Looking at you, Feinstein. Looking at you, entire senate.

It does still help. It is def. harder to get the attention of a senator in a red state, but at minimum it shows them that the opposition is mobilized and watching and what issues they are most upset about.
