Other than the fact that the programming in question is political, this post is simply, “How to watch X thing that is being broadcast.” They have done the same thing for the Oscars, Emmys, Superb Owl for years but none of those get whiners mewling about “politics.”

Excellent discussion of the topic of who leads or doesn’t lead us into the depths of a pandemic or out of it and the deflection of blame to the victims. And we all know who didn’t lead us properly.

The littering section reminded me of a quote from White House Senior Advisor Stephen Miller, when campaigning for student government in his school days:

some baggers do need instruction. Sometimes very explicit instructions. Sometimes with explicit words.

Unless you’ve surveyed every employee of the particular store at which you are shopping to confirm that they all “enjoy rallying up the carts” and believe it to be “easy, soothing work,” you are an asshole if you don’t put back your cart. I can’t even believe that you would try to both sides something as dumb and

In the words of Baron Thomas Macaulay:

But you know who doesn’t like that? All the other shoppers who have to drive and park around those stray carts because someone was an asshole. We don’t care who rationalized their laziness by telling themselves that it keeps the cart corral kids happy.

In general, if you’re wondering if you’re an asshole, you’re probably not.

Did you click on this article to laugh at people, or did you click on this article worried that something in it might describe you.

Reminds me of Adam Smith’s “Impartial Spectator” theory - the idea being that most of us decide what is moral by subconsciously thinking “What would a neutral observer think of this action I’m taking?”

I have OCD and ADHD (not self-diagnosed), and I had NEVER (until recently) been able to really do mindfulness meditation on my own, which resulted in feelings of frustration failure. Guided meditation works much better for me.

Cool story, bro.

I’m a history PhD candidate finishing a dissertation on ice in the US West. I always try to reference this scene, but nobody ever remembers it. (I guess other people don’t love this movie as much as me.) Important note, though: BTTF 3 is set in 1885. Hill Valley would have had access to cheap ice (maybe 1 cent/pound)

Still don’t understand why so many of you are openly willing to gamble with children’s lives just because your personal anecdotes are telling you something different than what the vast majority of educated professionals are continuously saying.

Optimism as a mitigation strategy is part of why we’re in this mess. So many groups, from political/governmental to educational to community, basically spent the past five months going “well, we’ll wait until we have to deal with it and hope it won’t be an issue”. They weren’t, on the whole, planning and trying to

I hate this. I’m angry that we are in this situation and livid at how badly we have screwed up in this country. And it’s not even my kids that will see the worst of this.

As long as I don’t have to wear anything on my face, I believe the science on this one.

shallots are good?

Considering that there are conflicting studies, I’m willing to let the science shake out before believing the “dream-sex with witches” doctor.

Only Trump Humpers and MAGAts will listen to a crazy-ass “doctor” who thinks demons deliver STDs and disease through dream sex. Good fucking God.
