I posed this question and was accused of victim blaming. I don’t think the penalty for making bad travel choices should be death, so... not victim blaming. At the same time I honestly cannot understand why in the hell someone would want to go to North Korea. It seems like the opposite of fun.

Anyone looking to this article for guidance on cycling should NOT be playing music while they ride. Situational awareness is key to survival on bikes, and tuning out with headphones is not a great idea. If you’re off-road, fine, I suppose, but I like to hear other riders and cars around me.

A “killer soundtrack” is also a great way to lose awareness.
