I agree. I’ll make fun of someone who has silly reasons for not identifying as a feminist (e.g. “I’m not a feminist because I don’t hate men”) but it sounds like she might be saying feminism can exclude women of color and LGBT women, which is a pretty decent reason not to use the term.
White lives matter, ethics in journalism, #notallsendersofdickpics, amirite? LOL LOL fuck you
Yeah the word you’re looking for is egalitarian, not humanist. Humanism is a belief system based on the belief that humans can sort themselves out without rules from a divine being & focuses on rationalism and empiricism over deism. Egalitarianism is the correct term for people that believe everyone needs a little…
Except they’re two significantly different things; to even suggest one is an alternative to the other illustrates a fundamental ignorance of both. I think before anything else changes, we should make it illegal to form and share opinions about a subject without at least reading its Wikipedia entry. I’m so tired of…
I don’t really care about labels and how people label themseleves. I care about what they do, what they think, and how they vote. Well I don’t really care about celebrities and what they think so much.
Can we ban people who don't effing know what humanism is from using the word in conversation or nah?
I feel like cookie dough is objectively more delicious than cookies. I don’t even feel like this statement is an opinion. Like, cookies are weird and dumb and frequently gross, crumbly pieces of shit (and even at best, they’re just tolerable), while cookie dough is an extension of the joy of the universe.
Cookies are joy. I’m trying to figure out why y’all keep murdering joy before it gets a chance to grow up.
Still trying to figure out why you hate joy
Nice touch
I’ve begun to notice that a lot of people railing against this ruling seem to have a fucked up mental picture of a “gay wedding cake” being covered in Gay Pride flags and dicks/vaginas and stuff.
And the political right creates a false equivalence between literally every law. “Oh, I can’t punch this homeless guy, but he can sit on the sidewalk all he wants?”
…and this is why Azucar Bakery in Denver did not have to write homophobic shit on the cakes they baked. They were perfectly willing to sell jerkwad two bible-shaped cakes, but they wouldn’t do the writing for him. they were willing to serve him and even sell him the decorating bags and tips so he could write his hate…
For any who think this is a First Amendment issue:
Operating a business in the public sphere means you agree to comply with anti-discrimination laws. Nobody forced the business owners to do that.
I WAS WITNESSED!
