Gonna counter this from an enthusiast perspective. Can I glance at that display and see (without actually reading the individualy displayed data) that all systems are within normal parameters?

All I could think of during the Faraday Fantasy presentation.

You’d think there’d be a flotilla of eco-warriors beating feet to get there to protect the reefs, the fish, the endangered just-discovered species of sea snail etc complete with film crews to document their struggle to protect mother earth like they do in the US.

....and it makes far more sense for a company to acquire IP through M&A than by developing it in house from scratch. Google and the rest of the tech giants do it all the time.
