It's not really a question of coordination. The human brain knows how the world around you should appear. All that is happening is that after a period of time, your brain compensates, and flips the images back.

Actually, the magnetic north pole and the geographic north pole are entirely separate locations. I see your point though. Compasses point to the magnetic north pole, while the geographic north pole is simply the point in the northern hemisphere where all longitudinal lines intersect.
