Honestly, I would *KILL* for a fully-realize, 3D world Pokemon game for the Wii U, based on the original Red & Blue games. Seriously; you have no idea how awesome that shit would be!
Even thought I wasn't some die-hard fan of the Battlefront games, it's still a shame that it didn't get finished. I mean, even if you said it was 75% through, I can't imagine the cost to finish development would outweight the potential sales, even if you l0w-balled it.
Yeah, I eventually went back to Vice City, and it was a lot better than when I first played it (having been "brain-washed" into believing everything about the 80's sucked, as a teenager). I think that was probably the closest GTA ever got to a setting that I could relate to. I would probably buy an HD remake of that,…
Hah, yeah; I was a pretty rough kid when I was super-young. My cousins were quite a lot older than me, and I pretty much copied them. Plus, it was a rough neighborhood anyways, so I was getting into fist-fights by the time I was like 7, which kids who were 13 or 14. I always lost, of course, but I think it was good…
Exactly; my personal experiences in the 90's were far removed from San Andreas, for the most part. We still had a lot of gang violence, but to put it blunty, San Andreas is defined as kind of a "Rap world", whereas I was always into Rock when I was younger (I was a Ludacris convert). Aside from living in the ghetto, I…
That's probably the best way to play a sandbox. For me, I have to be really invested in the environment of the sand-box, and the GTA games just never quite had an environment to appeal to me, save for maybe Vice City, which was much better once I had grown up and came to appreciate the 80's a lot more.
In fairness, I've been described as "prematurely 'old'" before, lol.
So, I actually don't like the GTA games much.
Not quite; you would still use the analog-sticks and tradition buttons for basic movement and attacks, but I would just regulate those "long-cooldown" abilities to the touch-screen. That way, you can still play it like a traditional Action game, but with the added benefit of RPG tactical abilities.
Well said, my friend.
I'm not sure you could get away with wearing that in *modern* day that wouldn't attract some nasty comparisons.
I just hope they release the goddamn PC version on time. It seems odd that they only promised two timed-exclusive to the 360, yet now we're stuck waiting on a third.
I believe Guild Wars 2 also has a grouping-mechanic like that, in which high-level characters are essentially "de-leveled" in low-level areas, but still obtain loot and experience appropriate to their actual level.
Who was it that made City of Villains? That was the one that really grabbed my attention, so much so that I actually got the Collector's Edition for it (as a Christmas present, even!).
Really? Wow, that's just a complete waste. I'll admit, I haven't played the game in some years, but they just had such a solid idea there. It's really just a damn shame, because in a lot of ways, I think they actually nailed the "Golden Era of Comics" even better that DCUO did.
Truly a sad day. This game has some *AMAZING* ideas, I think it simply lost a lot of wind because it didn't sport a DC or Marvel moniker. Hopefully, the community will find a way for this game to live on, perhaps via Offline or Private servers?
The think is, it needs to be *CLEAR* that you're offering a new product, not just iteration. "Wii U" doesn't really sound like a true successor to most people, nor does "3DS". Now, if they named the "Wii 2" or "DS 2", people would get the idea.
Indeed, but Nintendo is fighting an uphill battle in the meantime. The truly concerning thing, though, is whether their third-party support is going to abandon the console, as largely seems to be the case with the 3DS. The Wii U has pretty solid hardware and an awesome controller, so it's definitely going to be…
Ditto.
