Exactly. And most importantly, it shapes your image of the character. For the entire game, you're thinking "Man, Kratos is a complete ass, I honestly couldn't care less if he dies at the end". And then, you get that big moment, that big reveal, and it totally shatters the notions you had of his character.

Aww man, I totally feel you on that. It's one of the reasons I went PC for Skyrim, to make sure I could "fix" any errors I made with my character.

Hey, Just wanted to add another poster, and hopefully clarify some things...

They didn't "make it that way for a reason". It's simply sloppy design. The game is fantastic, don't get me wrong, but clearly not much effort was put into ensuring New Game+ was a totally-polished experience (as evidenced by the fact you can only replay the game once).

They're difficult to find, but the nice thing is that they're not "hidden" in the sense that they're purposefully put in places you won't see them, so much as put in places that either require back-tracking later with new powers, or are from more clever puzzle-solving.

Ugh, HORRIBLE choice on moving the story around. The whole reason that the first God of War had such a compelling story was that they told it to you in reserve order, and that seeing him lose his family suddenly made the rest of the things you had seen up until that point "click".

Agreed. I think the story was decent in MGS1, and passable in MG2, but it just way way too convoluted.

It would be a cleaner design, and it essentially penalizes people who put off side-content until the second play-through. I'm not saying the design it horrible or "broken", merely that it could be better. Maybe completing it additional times would net you different rewards, like a guaranteed Possessed Weapon or Unique

Fair enough, in that maybe they haven't aged super-well. EV's and IV's, though, are just terrible design when you consider that players can take advantage of them. EV's are outright terrible, while IV's should at least aim to have a certain consistency. Otherwise, these invisible stats just totally consume the game,

truthtellah: telling the truth since 2012!

Honestly, considering it has a touch-screen, I could see the Wii U being the perfect jumping-off point for a Pokemon game on the Wii U, with that kind of scope. Being able to customize your trainer (or, like I said, choose a pre-set appearance) and really tackle a Pokemon adventure would be a blast.

Those aren't "features", though; they're sloppy design. They obviously designed the content without New Game+ in mind, and when they added it, they just took the easiest route they could, as opposed to exercising smarter design throughout. That's not to speak ill of the developers at all, but it was clearly a corner

Yeah, but it's something I would personally remove. They were fine back when nobody knew about them, but once people understood how they worked, they were basically able to "game the system". Even with two Level 100 Charizards, if one person leveled normally, and the other took advantage of EV'ing and IV's, the second

I wonder; will you be able to also *CHANGE* your Store-hours? I often play my 3DS at night, shortly before I go to bed, but if that ever changes, it'd certainly be nice to have that as an option.

You know what would be sweet? Just a simple remake of Pokemon Red and Blue (again). Just remove that God-forsaken EV/IV system (there are more than enough Pokemon that each one can lean towards certain stats naturally). Also, if you don't want to give it totally new graphics, at the very least give it the appearance

I still *REALLY* want one of those see-through ones, but the White is quite fetching. I'd also really dig a Purple one, though, or maybe Orange.

What I don't understand is; if you're having two different versions of Cole anyways, why wouldn't you base one on the first game, and one on the sequel? Or even bloody different costumes? Instead, it's literally the same outfit, just recolored.

Darksiders II has something like 200 individual collectibles, and all of your progress is wiped clear if you hit New Game+, but not the rewards. Since you can only play New Game+ once, it basically means that, if you want to really make the most of your character, you have to play a very specific way, from start to

Exactly. I like games to challenge me, but I also play them to unwind or work out any frustration. Having it be the source of frustration, especially when the cause can be summed up as "sloppy/lazy design", just isn't good.

I actually owned that very issue, and used to read it on almost a daily basis! Man, seeing that really does take me back. I remember it showing a screenshot with a character who has a pony-tail, and thinking "Holy shit, it actually looks kind of like real hair", as opposed to the pony-tails in Asheron's Call, which
