@knobmonster: True, but I think I sort of preferred it that way (being anime-like, I mean). It just seemed a lot more natural, with the big hair and swords, whereas the new "realistic" look doesn't really evoke memories of FF7, but rather, bad cosplay.

Hmm, surprsing they wouldn't replace the character models with those from Oblivion, or countless other mods.

@Behrditz: You talking about the Bionicrm "twist"?

@Garlador: But yes, thank God for Alyx Vance!

@Garlador: I'm so with you. It's a shame, really, because Tifa was actually a really deep, well though-out character in the original game.

I know this is going to sound stupid, but...

The biggest shame of all, is that Nathan Spencer is using his new costume, which is only reflective of an utterly unlikable character, with atrocious voicework, in a significantly unpolished game (the game did have potential, though, and a few good moments).

@Xazi2003: At least Chris looks physically possible. Sure, he's a far-cry from the body-type he had in the original, but in it's defense, they could simply peg that on low-budget models of the PSX era.

The Razer Diamondback is still the finest mouse I've ever laid my hands on. I've had the damn thing for probably six or seven years, and it still functions perfectly. It looks great (I got one of the "Plasma" blue ones), and is amazingly durable, plus there are only two buttons on either side, and hey; it's

I really hope they do an "Anniversary Edition" update for the original Red and Blue.

@magnakaiser: On the plus side, now those kids are gonna be bragging how they have the coolest teacher for the rest of their lives.

@icedrake523: I think the final form of the Fire starter should've been Ganon.

@Goldwings: That's exactly what I was thinking.

@ScottiH: Well, having actually grown up around tons of junkies (ghetto neighborhoods FTL), I find little sympathy for junkies. Sure, their judgment is impaired whilst under the influence of drugs, but it's their decision to use anyways.

@Arnheim: Exactly. I mean, we all have *something*; most of us here at Kotaku probably play too many video games.

Good article!

@donnashowl: I agree; it was an important tragedy to a lot of families, so it's nice that to see it referenced, without it being some compounding political plot-point.

@deuxhero: So, so true. Fun realism. As much as I believe video games are a perfectly legitimate standard of Art, I would rather they be *fun*.

@herogear: You pretty much everything I could ever hope to say, regarding how games are designed now, and how they *should* be designed. Thank you! :D
