If Honda were to bring out an Element EV, I think that’d sell like hotcakes.  At least around here.  In fact - it’s really an un-developed sector on the whole:  EV Adventure vehicles.  Not SUVs, per se.  Not off-roaders.  But something practical and roomy, with decent range and the ability to throw all manner of dirty

This is a case where someone else’s project is probably not a horrible thing. First off, the underpinnings are old school VW parts. One of the drivetrains cars that a person totally inept with mechanicals can probably still tear down and repair. Secondly, the selected drive train actually fits the motif. This is no Fie

These are the only kit car model I would ever consider. The rest tend to look cheap, stupid, or designed by an 8 yr old with a spatial disability. At a bit lessor price would be all over this one here. Looks well done.

The lede picture is a good example. Two different chargers, two companies, two apps, two different connections (or some sort of “adapter”).

Or as Porsche (and maybe Subaru?) once did - tilt the instrument cluster with the steering column.

That does not change the fact it is NOT A FUCKING F1 CAR!. This will not be comfortable for long term driving nor will it be particularly safe for most idiot drivers.

Youbcan see more of your instrument cluster but there is a proper way to do that, see Peugeot’s, smaller wheel, higher cluster. Or with an hud.

It uses less material so it’s less expensive to build and Toyota/Tesla can save a buck or two on the BOM.

GTI is a ridiculous choice. Maaaaaaybe the Mk4, but I’m sure even that one is better than at least 10 other hot hatches out there.

The MkV GTI was a great car and possibly the prettiest one outside of a MkI, but I could also condemn it for being a veritable crapshoot on the reliability front. I know people who have had nightmares with stuff breaking on MkIIIs, MkIVs, and MkVs.

So, the Omni was mentioned, but no one even said the Caliber SRT4?

Personally I think the mk5 was best looking Golf generation so far. And the GTI prettiest of them all.

The only way the Chevy is a hot hatch is if you park it in the desert with the windows closed. Ugh.

The picture you used in the Escort slide is of the rest of the world Mk6 Escort, not a USDM car.

...and the Escort photo is of a European version when the post specifically mentions a North American model.

Also, this!

The Plymouth Prowler is a neat car that deserves our respect and admiration, and we should acknowledge that just about nobody but mid-90's Chrysler would put a concept car into production virtually unchanged just because they wanted an excuse to play around with some production technique (in this case, working with

Not only do 80% of truck owners never really need a truck, but that they will tell you they get one to help friends move or pull someone out of a ditch, and then cannot be found on moving day and drive right past everyone stuck in said ditch.
