I'd hardly compare pointing out the emperor's nudity with ACTUAL bigotry. You know, claiming or actively preventing people from expressing themselves. There's a difference. Pointing and laughing is not the same as, "You can't say that! That's offensive!"

Any idea worth having is worth criticising. Considering the lasting damage religion has caused throughout the centuries, a minor "slam" is hardly worth getting worked up about. And if we do, perhaps our priorities need an overhaul. Still, any belief as silly as religion is worth laughing at.

I think your inital claim that he's being disingenuous by liking allegedly vapid things is invalid. As vapid does not equate to taste, which is also why I think commenters are bristling at your arguments, and have also shown why they are invalid. :)
