The first of those DNFs was Fernando Alonso, whose engine failed him again

Verstappen (widely panned around here as a Bad Driver)

I really hate this whole attitude of “he had a great performance, therefore he must be cheating” with zero evidence of the kind of cheating that would enable this kind of Grand Tour performance.

You assume the only thing Froome has used is what he was caught for?

Now playing

They did an excellent breakdown of why they chose this over other options. Hardly half assed.

I don’t see how Ferrari can justify keeping Kimi. They have to get Ricciardo. If they don’t, then they’re not serious about winning a title. You need the best two drivers you can get and Ricciardo is a definite upgrade. If LeClerc performs as he seems he might, he can slot into Vettel’s seat after two years at Haas.

Merc have hardly been dominant (though they do have the best car, despite their pushing nonsense about Ferrari being the best).

To be replaced by whom? Don’t know that there are any available, non-competitor backed drivers available that would be considered any kind of an upgrade. JEV I guess?

So far, it seems like the archival footage is pretty much the only redeemable factor of F1 TV Pro—which, Gitlin notes, you can find in other places around the Internet.

And here I clicked thru to this thinking it was about Lance Armstrong winning the Tour de Trump.

“seems pretty high for a soccer match”

The F-duct. Driver altered the flow of air through the cockpit with his hand or leg.

So glad they are getting rid of Baku

Because the track is so long, they didn’t take too long to clear it IMO. Only 4 laps to clear Grosjean’s shunt and pull in the safety car. If that had been a regular track (excluding Spa) we’d have likely finished under caution.

Definitely more Verstappen’s fault. I think the stewards ruling was a carefully worded piece of bullshit as they probably decided having both cars out was punishment enough. To use Ricciardo saying his move was probably made too late as an excuse to split blame is absurd because, like you say, had Verstappen not done

The safety car brought everyone in through the pit lane, there was no reason not to as you wouldn’t lose any position. Essentially the entire field pitted.

Seems they’re covering for Verstappen and, knowing he won’t be the cooler head, making Ricciardo pay as well. Verstappen should have been given team orders to let Ricciardo pass after Max practically ran him into the wall earlier. He’s a menace.

Accelaration and deceleration mean nothing in this situation. You can only make one defensive move - “More than one change of direction to defend a position is not permitted.”

He moved to block Riccardo’s move to the right...then seeing it was a dummy, moved left to block again. Two moves. Pretty cut and dry.

You can only do one defensive move, period. Under braking you’re not allowed to do anything erratic. This is slightly adjusted from last year when (under the Verstappen rule) you weren’t allowed to do ANY moves under braking.
