Saw a sad thread on a meme site of users complaining that Larson isn’t funny and is ‘boomer humor’. Made me really angry that a community whose sense of humor is defined by irony and morbidity wouldn’t understand the magic of Larson.

People in the comments are going to miss the point with what he’s saying about Black Panther, but he’s right. Black actors and production crew shouldn’t have to sit around waiting for a studio to do a movie set in Africa to get jobs.

To be blunt: this site is becoming impossible to use. Huge ads, auto play video that stays locked on top, making text hard to read... Nah. Not in this case anyway. Some of these are from 2014 when he was 29, an aspiring actor, and looking for a job. He should have known better. Leaving them up for 6 years, only to take them down and issue an “apology” after they were dug up feels very hollow.

I didn’t go to the theater that often pre-COVID, but when I did go, it was for the communal experience of seeing a blockbuster movie, i.e. Avengers Endgame.
