Teaser trailers have always been around.... at least this is someone what a "full" trailer versus the batman teaser.

They can't Fox and the other studios has rights to them, hence why they are not even bother trying to tie in the films. This is also why Columbia Pictures rebooted the spiderman series... so they do not loose the rights.

Other than the Hulk, the other ones are not true Marvel movies... they are other studios playing with their IP. The Avenger movies (thor, Iron Man, Capt, etc...) those are Marvel Studios own work and so far they haven't been too bad.

I am pretty sure the creator stated that ID4 was a different take on Stargate based on his beliefs. He does not really believe in aliens, but thought it would be weird waking up the next morning to see a 15mile wide spaceship hovering in the sky.

There is no way ID4 could have been a sequel. Just because a lot of the same people worked on the two films doesn't mean one was could have been a sequel.

I know that, but I do not think there was any exact date given. That date came from when the second book dealing with Sir Nearly Headless Nick deathday. It was his 500th deathday and he died in 1492, doing that math puts Harry's birth in 1980. BUT other than that there is no other reference.
