I have an old soft-ish case I put the tab in when I fly, and I trap the cover in the tray then lock it shut so the tab hangs in front of it. Only works whilst your not using the tray obviously ^^

From what I understand the reason that the cpu is active is that the app is constantly generating data to fill the entropy pool, and that's what causes the lag (as opposed to the cpu running at low speeds)

I find the snipping tool really useful for screenshots (or for a snapshot of any part of the screen).
Hint: I have trouble reaching the top of the screen of the SII, so using a launcher which allows gestures (Nova/Apex/LauncherPro etc) I set the notifications to come down on a central upswipe, for which you can us the home button as a guide. Once you get used to it it really does help to get around any size Android…
