I played the game at launch and on and off again ever since. It's been interesting watching the game grow and improve from it's early existence as a great experience from levels 1-20 followed by a whole lot of nothing and getting ganked by people twice your level. A lot if not most of those early problems have been

@Gambit09: With a name like that he'll probably end up at either S.P.E.C.T.R.E or SMERSH.

Yeah the H1N1 paranoia is insane over here in Japan right now. Anyone arriving from North America at the airport showing signs of an illness, even just a fever over 100 degrees is getting isolated and tested.

@Sevius: True, true, and not to trivialize those who died but at least they won.

@Nutlink: That would be a good idea except Red Orchestra is about the Soviets, so what other war could it be about and not be absurdly depressing or have the player being the bad guy?

I've been living in Japan for a few years now and have gotten pretty numb to most of their crazy ads, but that is one of the weirdest fucking things I've seen in a long time.

You know I'd totally play a dog sled racing game, maybe not a monthly fee MMO, but I'm totally down with the game concept. But I'd want it more gritty and serious, and possibly narrated by Mike Rowe, not the anime inspired kawaii crap that this game appears to be.

@Godseye: Well some of us can't afford tables and have to make best with what we have. There's no reason to rub it in.

@excel_excel: Oh yeah the gamecube one, duh, the one mentioned in the story. I need to read more throughly or stay off Kotaku past midnight.

Did they improve the awful voice acting at all?

I honestly can't make up my mind if I completely love this game or hate it with the fire of a thousands suns.

Hey some of us do LAN in war zones, at least when our asses get deployed. Don't know if I could fit that thing in my duffel bag though.

@phicaluk: Very similar, except with more lying and self promotion.

Lean times all around these days. Here's hoping the market will start to turn around soon and cash start flowing again.

As much as I love hex-based war games, this one has no appeal to me what so ever. This one has a bit too cartoonish feel, which I don't fault it for, but I'd rather play something more historical in nature like Panzer Generals.

@darkgodofdeath: JRPGs and Tomb Raider does not make you a superpower, but I'll subscribe to your optimism. Here's hoping for good games somewhere in the future.

This is why we can't have nice things.

@GregoriusH: "LadyMan" on the other hand though, that's a different story entirely...

The funk from 40 hours worth of nerd sweat must have been awful.
