Just prepare yourself to cry your eyes out in front of your daughter. There’s a ton for kids to love, but it really hits the heart for the rest of us who remember what it was like to be a kid (kinda like the last scene with Andy in Toy Story 3).

I watched it last night, and it’s easily some of Pixar’s finest work. It’s deceptively complex and nuanced, with a wonderful balance of both humor and sadness.
Speaking of modern-day badass Gurkhas:
I would say if you liked the direction Clone Wars went, you’ll like where Rebels goes. The first few episodes are definitely pretty cutesy (it is a kids cartoon after all) but around episode 5 “Empire Day” they start really getting into the mythos of what went on in the period between Revenge of the Sith and New Hope.
Yes - it gets really, really good.
This ×100.
I like the way you think...
Oh totally, I’m just intrigued by the fact that’s it’s looking like they’re actually going to do it. The show seems to shy away from a lot of the quirkier side-story elements of the books. Like the more they keep teasing it, the more I’m starting to think, “wow, they might actually be doing this!”
Almost certainly, but I’m just wondering where both the show and GRRM are going with that whole plot line. I mean we’ve got White Walkers, dragons and all these other things going on and then - boom - flesh golem for some reason.
The one thing that I really want to know at this point is what they’re leading to with Qyburn. They keep doing little one off bits with him, hinting to some sort of project he’s working on (I’ve read the books, so I have my suspicions).
Well aware of that fact - was actually in one of the last brigades to leave. That being said it’s not like we made much of an attempt to renew/extend the SOFA.
Well by 2010 or so, Iraq was actually heading in a pretty decent direction, and the Baathist and Sunni extremists that would become ISIS had been pretty much defeated and driven out of the country. We actually did a really good job at mopping them up at the time, but then left prematurely to fulfill campaign promises.
Oh believe me, I’m well aware - just wrapped up my third deployment back in October.
Yeah, the world could get off its ass and send in troops.
It wasn’t so much staged as it was repeated with a second, larger flag which became the iconic photo later used as the source for the Marine Corps Memorial at Arlington.
It’s punishment - the movie opens with Max captured by the War Boys, and that’s him shackled and mounted on the hood of one of their cars.
So glad I’m not the only one!
Here’s the thing though, Batman is just one character in the DCU. Just because people like Batman and Batman movies do well and Batman is all dour and gritty doesn’t mean the ENTIRE DC cinematic universe has to be the same way.
The Comcast/TWC deal is canceled, I’m going to a party tonight, AND my week of vacation starts tomorrow?
