Been reading every day and commenting across a couple accounts since like 2008 - I’m going to miss this stupid website. Deadspin forever.

I can’t get over that quote from the dad trying to scam his kid in as a USC kicker recruit:
After his loss to Evans literally a decade ago, Liddell should never have been allowed to step foot in a ring again. That was a scary, scary knockout.
“Y’all are brutalizing me!”
It turns out we may all be somewhat mistaken, as 2-7 Cav briefly was assigned to 4th ID at Carson from 87-93, which is also when 4th ID was doing their REFORGER mission in Germany. Learned something new today.
Also 2-7 Cav. is not part of the division.
Also 2-7 Cav. isn’t even part of the 4th Infantry Division, so who knows how this is all going to shake out.
Scary stuff indeed:
Oh I agree 100% that it’s a cynical move, but I will say at least in the case of the Outlaws, they’ve been doing an impressive job trying to localize the team with viewing parties and stuff - especially for the “Battle for Texas” match against the Fuel. Not to mention the Kia Niro, which is a hybrid only that looks totally “normal”.
Same here - just bough a Touring Edition a few months ago and I agree 100% with your sentiments (except I like it being a hatchback).
She seems like a fantastic choice for Virginia, and I’m sure she’ll be amazing, but a quick note/correction, she graduated VMI in ‘03 - the first women to graduate the Institute did so in ‘01.
So how long before Don Jr. posts a video of him doing stomach crunches - did you know he can do a thousand now?
Exactly! I was watching South Korea v. Poland and was amazed by how willing they were to swap out to make things work - one player even had his ult. and still made a switch to disrupt Poland’s push on the payload.
The strong hero component in Dota is so interesting to me, sometimes the draft is one of the most exciting parts of the game. Teams really have to remain versatile with the roster, which really leads to some compelling outcomes.
I thought the same thing at first but it’s really not! Think of it like how real-world sports have standardized field and court sizes, so regardless of where you’re playing the “terrain” is more or less the same, allowing there to be a more uniform setting for the sport.
Also in District 10 - co-signed!
