Been reading every day and commenting across a couple accounts since like 2008 - I’m going to miss this stupid website. Deadspin forever.

I can’t get over that quote from the dad trying to scam his kid in as a USC kicker recruit:

The Ferengi episodes were, IMO, some of the stronger episodes of the entire series. (Minus the one downright dreadful episode where Quark got a sex change.)

After his loss to Evans literally a decade ago, Liddell should never have been allowed to step foot in a ring again. That was a scary, scary knockout.

“Y’all are brutalizing me!”

Can we talk for a sec about how GOOD “The Terror” is?

Waaay more ambitious:

Welp, time to got watch Hunt for the Wilderpeople again while I wait for Ragnarok to be available.

Oh I agree 100% that it’s a cynical move, but I will say at least in the case of the Outlaws, they’ve been doing an impressive job trying to localize the team with viewing parties and stuff - especially for the “Battle for Texas” match against the Fuel. I mean yeah, there’s no real direct financial impact to the

Honestly, it’s an incredibly shrewd business move by OWL. I mean if you’re looking to draw in more outside, non-traditional, viewers in major media markets (and sponsors) it’s a lot easier to pitch teams named stuff like the San Francisco Shock than is NRG eSports.
