Yes, Astrophotography is a whole thing. There’s eyepieces you can get to hold your phone camera up to it, which is what I use. These are some photos/videos I’ve taken doing that with various Google Pixel phones:

As an amateur astronomer myself I get asked about this a LOT. The BEST value telescope out there (for those in the US) is by far the Astronomers Without Boarders OneSky. It’s $250 and even after 10 years, it’s my go to portable scope for when I’m sharing the sky with others.

I qualify, however I owed in for 2020 due to a divorce, so my last stimulus was mailed as a paper check. Now I’m moving to a new address, so a mailed check will go to the wrong place, AND the IRS doesn’t have any direct-deposit info for me.
