I thought the same thing.
I thought the same thing.
The first thought in my head was, "Ranger Joe. Ranger Joe. He's the greatest guy I know! Ranger Joe." This does not coincide well with the Ranger Joe described in your letter.
It's going to be difficult to distinguish between the two. However, I feel that chewing out an incompetent employee is precipitated by an event (or multiple events) where that same employee has done something wrong. The behavior undertaken by the supervisor should probably focus strictly on job performance and not on…
I loathe when people don't use your name. I understand that it's very possible that a name can be forgotten, but when done intentionally it really makes me angry.
I feel like it's very passive-aggressive, unless you're doing it with someone with whom you have a good rapport and it would be perceived as being humorous. I wouldn't consider it bullying.
I mentioned this in an earlier article outlining that arguments with women in the workplace are perceived differently than ones with men, but I figured that I would reiterate. Because I can!
That is horrifying.
Brilliant game. I enjoy playing it so much that I have my original copy, one for the PlayStation, and another on DS!
I'm guessing that region and age contributes to this, as well as gender. I've worked in industries where the vast majority of workers were older men (often nearing retirement), and this wasn't prevalent. When I moved out west, however, and worked with younger people (including far more women) in a different industry,…
I'd be a little wary of people who lie repeatedly and do so convincingly, particularly when I feel that there's probably little reason to do so. It would make me wonder about what else in their lives that they may be lying.
There's definitely a trend in the corporate world that has resulted in poor written communication habits. It wasn't as bad when I worked in the power generation industry on the East Coast (most of my coworkers were older gentlemen), but it shocked me when I started working in the digital advertising industry in…
I have the same issue as luckymc44: I can walk quite fine in high heels, but I generally have issues with wedges. I've only one pair that has worked for me and even then I still occasionally roll my ankles.
If the case were an effort to entice one gender into an industry where the other dominates it, wouldn't you expect to see women being paid more money when they work in male-dominated industries?
This is brilliant. I haven't liked the videos at all, but I did enjoy this. I laughed!
Agreed!
Boyfriend is the predominant yogurt eater in our house. I go through phases when I may want some, but he's generally in the once-a-day camp. My brothers and father ate yogurt as well.
I've known people who, as adults, have reused or reversed condoms. Sadly, it's not just limited to teenagers.
Well, if I understand correctly, satire is usually undertaken when pointing out a negative trait about an individual or group of people, often either to criticize behavior or influence a change for the better.
I don't usually understand humor without charts and diagrams (particularly when related to popular culture), so I'm dismayed and confused by the tweet. Is it referencing a specific event or is The Onion trying to just get a rise out of people?
I occasionally drop by FemPop (http://www.fempop.com/), which provides a female perspective of popular culture.
