Oh please. Morrissey is nothing more than a querulous, preening racist psychopath who wrote mortifying and inexplicably popular songs.

I always hate it when you see some fanatical vegetarian or vegan throwing metaphorical red paint everywhere, it's like ARGH. I just want to be veggie for my own reasons. We don't need someone being a radical frontman for our personal choice.
But her career is fitness, right? So she does need to promote herself and what she has accomplished.
Wise words.
"But if she truly thinks that is her greatest accomplishment - and if that actually IS her greatest accomplishment - that'll seriously suck"
You're doing it right. Thank you.
I'm not sure she ever even meant to make others feel insecure. She just has a very different mindset from you, me and most others on here. We decide when and how we deal with her.
Yes. I am concerned about what attitudes she might be modeling for her kids. and what pressures they might wind up feeling.
That is exactly my biggest issue with this lady. Like screw everything else, first and foremost you have to be fit otherwise clearly you're a loser at life. I mean for someone who is so obsessed with fitness and health (although in reality its really not that that matters to her - its being thin), you'd think she…
"(and happier still if she doesn't feel the need to expose herself to the world, which in my culture is a sign of desperation, not confidence.) "
"who finds the appearance of her body to be her greatest accomplishment"
It gets zero credibility from the hard sciences (except maybe elderly scientists who are stuck in 1950's mentalities). Every biologist that I know rolls their eyes at it the same way the roll their eyes at homeopathy or astrology.
Also, can we stop misusing the word "curvy"? It's a word with positive connotations that has been misappropriated to mean something completely different. In order for someone to be curvy, there has to be a waistline: the curves have to go in, not just out. A series of bulges is not "curvy".
Considering that my comment has the *most* "stars" I think it's pretty clear that yes, it IS what "most people" are thinking.
I think what people are quarreling over, in part, is a semantic ambiguity. If we use "normal" to indicate statistical average then, yes, these women are "normal". Normal can also mean mentally and physically healthy. Although I think there's far more to discuss regarding the accuracy of BMI, etc., being very…
So, this is just for the sake of argument and you're right only a doctor knows a persons health BUT - a recent study (I will find the link and ETA source later) showed that whilst there is a percentage of overweight/obese/plus size people who are in fact metabolically health (not displaying the sorts of issues you…
It's sad that most Americans are unhealthy and dying of obesity-related issues such as heart failure/diabetes. And I am sick to death of Jezebel commentators saying "how do you know they aren't healthy?" or "I'm not healthy but I don't mind."
Except obesity isn't normal. If we all take steroids to grow to be 7 feet tall is that normal?
"Oh America" is correct. While these might be regular women in the USA, suffice it to say that America does not represent the whole of the female population in the world. Therefore, these women are not regular women but rather they are overweight, and might I add, obese women. Now, if they are happy with that,…
Yes this was my point. As I said, "Oh America..."
I agree! This celebrates bodies that are clearly obese. They have a right to sexiness and confidence like everyone, but no body is "regular," and these women are clearly unhealthy.
