I don't think she's free from responsibility either. But there is always some degree of power disparity between doctors and patients, and when one is depressed, even more so. She had a moral lapse, or an error in judgment; he had a professional (and perhaps legal) lapse. Only one of these IMO should draw professional

Doctors have tremendous power over their patients, but psychiatrists (or MDs other than psychiatrists providing psychiatric/psychological care) have perhaps the most. The phenomenon of transference comes up by far the most in psychiatry, and because while other doctors help treat your body, these doctors help heal

I didn't know there was such a law! That's good news. I recently heard of a divorced Navy guy who deliberately retired at 18 years (they get a great pension at 20) solely so he would not have to share said pension with his ex-wife. That some people would rather get 0 than half of something pretty decent, as long as

is a series that's success is largely thanks to

Thanks, I hadn't heard that before.

I did not know that. Thank you.

Why Wendy's? As fast food goes, I find it the least-processed/most like real food.

Leads to racial harmony, too.

The thing with India is that there are so many ethnic groups, and they also have a (rough) north-south gradient in terms of skin colour but also historical political clout, so it's really hard to disentangle skin tone and economic power and political power and privilege. What would be really interesting would be to

And you're derailing her, trying to object to "I hate white people" as ignorant and unhelpful (which it is) by dragging her into a discussion racial politics. Her statement was no more ignorant or offensive than the first post.

You're not 'white'? Their brains are gonna explode :)

Go haze yourself.

This is similar to my family. We are opting out of the whole rigmarole; classify this, formfillers!

I know that Indian culture has (in some ways) a bias toward light skin colour that predates serious colonial activity in the area, but there was always a lot more influence from other regions there, so it's not an exact parallel.

And in those photos (not in most others I've seen) they all have pretty identical skin tones, too. Makes me wonder if they used some filter to create a "trendy" hair colour.

Yeah. Cowell's going to be the father of the child's brother/sister, and possibly his de facto (or actual) stepfather. This sort of thing is only justified if the third party is a direct or indirect (criminal, drug addict, otherwise likely to expose the child to some kind of harm) threat. "The guy knocked up my wife"

Exactly. My reaction to the original comment was, "it depends what you mean by NEED to wear makeup." Very few jobs explicitly require it, or even will have managers/bosses who tell you it's preferable. But if you present as less healthy, attractive, or well groomed than the rest of your colleagues, based entirely on

Yeah, "hungover for 9 months" is about how I found it too. Plus joint pain.

Yeah. You're attracted to what you're attracted to, and that's fair enough whoever you are and whatever floats your boat. But if men are "entitled" to VS models whose favourite activities are making sandwiches and giving blowjobs, then women are just as entitled to whatever Fabio-romance-novel-cover is the equivalent.
