Thanks for that. Looking at this here, it just looks like the ball joint lost its boot then corroded until the ball got rough and smoked the bearing material inside the cup. The reason the ball looks so rotted all over, is that it’s an upper ball joint. They tend not to see much loading if you don’t do any hard…

LOL... I don’t know. I’m kind of intrigued by your description of sprint races. I don't watch NASCAR currently, but might be tempted to check it out with that format.

The sprint idea doesn't sound hideous. It makes sense. Have two heat races, a consolation race, and the "A main." Most of the good stock car guys come from dirt track anyway so I think they would appreciate the format. If they did this I may start watching NASCAR.
