I’ll just leave this here.

Nope, ‘17 was the last year for them, but they’ll still have the parts in their catalogue. Since the ‘19 launch Corsair wasn’t originally offered as a PHEV I fully expect the PHEV be a parts-bin special using a lot of the same EV components as the C-Max and Fusion Energi.

Simple answer is that EVs don’t need a full transmission, just a simple gear reduction. You can gear your motor to hit its RPM limit at a certain speed while still having enough torque at low RPMs to handle launching from a dead stop and driving at city speeds.

That would probably be the same 7.6 kWh battery pack from the Fusion Energi and C-Max Energi. If the car wasn’t designed as a PHEV from the ground up the battery pack is probably sitting on the cargo floor rather than integrated into the undercarriage and raises the cargo deck by about 4-6". A larger battery would

Which still doesn’t bode well, if something that was designed to be exposed to the elements failed in less than a month of winter use. I’d rather not subject my door handles to such uncertainty and would prefer a manual door handle to an electronic mechanism.

The 2018 Navigator released with power deployable running boards. About a month after it was launched I saw one in the wild in winter, and already one side was retracted and the other was iced over and stuck in the deployed position. I have a feeling that a dump of freezing rain will lead to a bunch of Mach-Es being se

The more I look at it, the more it grows on me. Still shouldn’t be called a Mustang, but aside from the name there really isn’t anything that looks bad (except for those body colored “pillow emboss” wheel arches). Before I read the leak thread on Saturday I thought it was a much larger car, but knowing now that it’s

CAMUS works and actually sounds like a word, but I swear there was an article back when this whole hullabaloo started that stated Trump wanted the US to be first and that’s why we ended up with USMCA instead of NAFTA or any other phonetically pleasing abbreviation.

Roads have a carrying capacity, and any traffic added to the road after it’s at its capacity will slow everybody down even if everybody drives absolutely perfectly.

Whenever I hear about how AVs are going to change society for the better, the only thing I think about is morning rush hour.

Dear god. Having just swapped my summer tires for winters, I still can’t get over the weight difference between 16" steel wheels with high profile tires and the stock 17" aluminum wheels with lower profile tires. I could carry two 16s out of the shed at a time, one in each hand, but there was no way I could

Aviate > navigate > communicate. The flight crew shouldn’t even bother uttering a word unless they can keep the plane in the air and preferably pointed where they want it to go.

Neutral: I performed basic maintenance myself where possible, and used an independent mechanic when it was beyond my abilities for my last car, but I won’t be using them going forward. I bought a PHEV, so there are big, high-voltage cables running throughout the car and engine bay. I don’t want someone who isn’t

Concrete is a major source of carbon. To make cement, limestone is cooked until it breaks down into carbon dioxide and calcium carbonate. This calcium carbonate is then cooked with clay until it binds with the silicates and forms cement.

I think you’ve just invented a tree.

What do the youths actually want from Nissan? My money is on a cheap Leaf with a liquid-cooled battery pack.

Average performance for EVs seems to hover around 4-5km per kWh. There are some outliers (such as Porsche and Jaguar’s performance offerings), but most commuter EVs seem to use between 18-24kWh per 100km.

Mitsubishi already fills that niche. The Mirage can be had for under $15k, and if you want an SUV the Outlander Sport or Eclipse Cross both start around $23k. However, these are just bad cars, and you actually have to get people to come to the lot to sell them.

Ford Ab-E-ttoir. If they insist it’s a Mustang rather than its own vehicle, then it’ll kill a horse brand.
