A simple solution would be to create a little recess in the dashboard and put in a Prius-style speedometer (and probably a ‘fuel’ gauge too). Use the big display for any auxiliary or infotainment information, but give the driver the critical information right in their line of sight.

I think the only way they’re going to save the class or persuade any manufacturers is if they can massively reduce the cost. Whether they achieve that by removing the hybrid requirements, designing a (or adopting an existing) spec chassis, by adding rules that slow the class and discourage aggressive part development,

I thought the same, but the Planet Coaster building tools make it fairly easy to make something that looks good. Just layer a bunch of stuff on top of each other, use the offset tools, build new buildings at odd angles that intersect other buildings, and decide what looks good.

My only concern is how the brake lights will behave while coasting. I’d hate to be behind a car that was rapidly decelerating without the brake lights illuminated because the driver had let off the gas, but I’d also hate to be stuck behind an impromptu dance party if the brake lights strobe on every time the driver

Even if it wasn’t to hide evidence, I still can’t comprehend United just choosing to cremate the corpse without even consulting the owner. Regardless of the state of the rabbit, it’s still belongs to the owner! Does the fine print on the ticket now transfer ownership of all luggage to the airline until such time as it

Sad to say that I’m one of those people. Aside from Le Mans, the only prototype racing I follow is the IMSA WeatherTech with their almost-spec chassis. Sometimes racing is better when the focus is on keeping competitors’ performance equal instead of allowing builders to make the fastest car possible.

I’m not an electrical engineer so I’m not going to try running the math, but just how large a wire would even be needed to push a couple dozen kWh in a matter of minutes? I suspect the wires would need to be huge because either you’ll run ungodly amperage that requires a larger wire, or ungodly voltage that requires a

Have they announced that they’ll be shutting down lines overnight to allow workers to perform track level maintenance? If not, I suspect that problems will continue to compound until replacing the whole system is the only solution.

I believe the Challenger uses a standard PRNDL that shifts based on absolute position holds the lever at the selected gear. The Jeep shifter changed gears by relative motion but it always returned to a neutral position after every shift.

Regarding the German cartel, some reports I’ve read seem to indicate the companies were colluding on technology roll-outs as well, where companies agreed not to release a feature on their cars until their ‘competitors’ also had that feature available. I feel that this should be a bigger issue than the price fixing

We’ll have to see what the road package looks like, but I’m really digging the simple aero of the speedway package. The low rear spoiler especially seems to say that this package is just enough to keep the car on the road and it’ll be up to the driver to make the most of the mechanical grip.

I was walking on the sidewalk when the following happened on one of the tourist buses that prowls our downtown.

The majority of hydrogen produced today comes from cracking hydrocarbons, not water. It’s relatively cheap and easy to split hydrogen from natural gas, coal, or oil, whereas electrolysis of water is currently the most expensive and most energy-intensive form of producing hydrogen.

We never got the SS north of the border so I keep forgetting that it exists. That said, I still prefer look of the Impala and wish it had a better drivetrain.

I love the look of the current gen Impala but can’t believe it’s only available in FWD. I wonder if they could’ve taken some sales from BMW or Mercedes if they’d targeted the ‘discreet enthusiast’ with an RWD/manual vehicle instead of forcing enthusiasts to look at the more ostentatious Camaro.

I’d take the Fiesta for the simple reason that the Focus interior makes me feel claustrophobic. In most cars I’d agree that moving up in the model range makes sense but for some reason I feel like I can see out of the Fiesta where the Focus is just a collection of windows wrapped around a rolling blind spot. I think

I lived above a nightclub for a couple of months. Even when they had the volume cranked I would only hear the thumping if I turned my computer off and laid on my bed. If these venues are pumping out enough sound to shake windows or rattle dishes, I agree that the resident has a valid complaint. Either they need to

It looks like the car that video game designers make when they don’t want to license an actual vehicle. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen this car in GTA, Saints Row, and Watch Dogs among others.

Indeed it was the 8 speed ZF. Bucked worse than a teenager learning to drive a manual for the first 5-10 minutes every morning then ran relatively trouble free, aside from that missed shift on the mountain.
