So long as all gaps, vents and outside temperature (and humidity) air holes are blocked, you are good. But just insulating the rafters and not blocking all outside air ingress is disastrous.

Unless you made it a fully sealed space at the same time, which is expensive as a retrofit, you likely created a loft moisture trap.
