Interesting that the props look more like aeronautical props than more traditional nautical style. I wonder if that's specific to it's environment of use.

Drew Barrymore do something else...

Taxi view? Or Borg recharge station?

One year that they launched an Ariene Rocket, and while undergoing some repairs, they closed off the stairs access and put a scaffold up one side with a 1-1 scale (flat/wooden) Ariene painting to show its relative height. They let tourists go up using one of these metal cage construction elevators. I was a kid at the

The Lazareth bikes in Babylon AD. Particularly the quad (nice burnout just at the two minute mark).

Wall mounting. That would be a deciding factor, given my current 55" Sammy is hung using the wire and disc style mount above my fireplace.

It's news because it's empirical evidence.

Depends what you mean by "the right to do that". At no time was the aim to hit a member of the public. Someone seeing a flying wing and ducking doesn't mean they were ever in any danger, it just means they panic easily. With that in mind, was it poor judgement in light of people not being made aware filming would be

The very fact the two sides of the argument are that (complainant) "Aircraft" covers ANYTHING that flies, and (respondent) that neither "UAV" nor "model aircraft" are expressly outlined in the laws being applied in this case, sums up the situation perfectly.

You do know you are refering to Raphael "Trappy" Pirker - one of the lead innovators and most well respected names in the industry, right?

A widespread ban would not happen as it would kill an entire RC hobby business sector. Policy makers are not going to ruin thriving businesses when they are seeking to continue to reduce unemployment.

I knew one thing prior to watching - naked Johansson. Turned out it was worth watching for much more than that. And "eating" is an interesting choice of words. I'd have said "consumes" and even that is a narrow description for those scenes. The beach scene, being a father of a toddler, made me feel genuinely uneasy.

You're welcome!

The X4 is a great little quad. Remember, if it doesn't hover stable right out of the box (i.e. with your hands off the sticks, no AC or fans, and it doesn't spin or drift), then you should calibrate it (watch the video). Also, you can upgrade the motors and really make it a fast little bugger. Check out Micro Motor

It's the Phoenix Flight Gear Carbon. Though I'm just in the process of switching to the Rakon Heli Carbon frame.

Now that's a whole other (more expensive) review. But for an off-the-shelf blast, get yourself a Blade 200QX. Big enough to go bloody fast, but small enough to build confidence. Do NOT fly around kids or dogs who would chase it though. The blades will injure. Lots of aftermarket modifications out there too. Check

Try flying them fast with video goggles, then report back!

I don't know of any that will do that out of the box. But I've seen creative use of the 180Qx and 200Qx camera connectors; re-purposing the trigger signal to activate hobby standard payload release mechanisms. Those aren't really indoor quads though.

Lets see what the FAA comes up with. I doubt outlawing them. More likely sensible restrictions on places of use, like not near airports, emergency response situations, urban environments. etc.

I can fly mine beyond my vision if not careful. But more than that, I can fly around solid obstacles (weaving around trees in my yard) and not lose control signal. Same controller flies my $1000+ large quads..
