probably better just to avoid having kids altogether. Im proud to say I HAVE NEVER left my kid in the car for ANY amount of time. and I havent had the cops called on me, and I can go on vacation, and I have tons more money, all because I dont have a gross little mucus ball keeping me from getting laid.

I was a hump straddler, and I’d rest my elbows over the front bench. I was one of those kids that needed to see what’s going on.

They have the remarkable ability to make even the simplest of activities into colossal ass-pains, and when multiple kids are involved, the ass-painery increases exponentially.

I’ve got zero tolerance for zero tolerance laws. I hope common sense reemerges one of these days in our society.

On an overcast, 60 degree day in a decent neighborhood I left my 3 y/o in the car to run in for one item at Home Depot that I had called ahead for and I saw from the parking lot that the store was not crowded. I came out 3 minutes later and there was a lady parked next to my car protecting my son and waiting to

I hear you, but I just don’t think the risk is nearly as great as mass media would have you believe. And it’s not just a few seconds — depending on a huge number of factors, it can be a big deal, one where the kid and everyone would be happier and perhaps even safer if the kid just stayed in the car for a few minutes.

When I was a kid, I refused to set foot inside a Wal-Mart. So every time my folks went, I’d wait in the car. In Texas. Which was still preferable to being inside a Wal-Mart. I never died, and if it got too hot, I could always just open the door.

Why take the unnecessary risk? Just take your kid with you. Is your kid not worth those few extra seconds of time?

Ths wr th dys.

They probably make me look shorter than I already am (I’m 5’2” on a good day with big hair), but they make me feel tall so I don’t really care how they look. I just want to revel in the fantasy that maybe today I can reach things on the top shelf all by myself.

I too am a frequent wearer of dresses, like many in this thread...but not the maxi. I am short and have about a 40/30/40 body. I look like that caricature lady from some olive oil commercial. Will not drape in jersey. Will not.

When people review maxi dresses as “too short” I’m like, lemme at em! Because I am 5’.

Wow. You know, I’ve disagreed with Jezebel a lot but I’ve always stuck around. I mean, no one’s perfect, so a blog certainly can’t be perfect either, right?

I not only dumped ice water on my head, I also hashtagged it #alllivesmatter.

Or that we require the enforcement of labor laws so people are paid just wages. Tipping is a hugely problematic system that does not improve worker treatment. Every evaluation of tipping indicates it’s racist and sexist as hell for workers and encourages racist and sexist treatment of customers.

I thought this piece was amazing, and I’m so glad the NY Times took this on—I hope it spurs regulators into action. However, what I wanted to know was how one can ensure that they are going to a salon where workers are treated/paid fairly? Like, is it something along the lines of any place charging less than a certain

The takeaway from this should not be, oh hey, when you get your mani-pedi, be sure to give the wage slave who does it a couple of extra bucks that her boss might not steal.

Oh, Natasha, we get it. You’re still closer to Teen than Exhausted Parent. But trust me this article will come back to haunt you in some way.

I knew all about these teen tricks because I USED TO BE A TEEN.

The thing I’m most outraged by is that she MISSED A PIECE!!! IS THIS NOT INCLUDED IN HAIRSTYLING 101???
