The more that the DC movies set themselves apart from the vision of BvS (and if you’re super generous with the word “plan”, Man of Steel) the better the DC movies get, so I’m glad that Justice League has very little impact on the next films and his new cut will live in its own space.

JRPG fatigue is very real, haha. I think I’m speaking mostly from my own first impression of the game. At the time, I had only played VII and VIII, so I looked at the cover for the game and was like, “Huh? What is this? It doesn’t look cool like the other ones...” and while I liked it enough at the time, I’ve found

Loved this game from the opening, playing as a thief instead of a typical hero and the twist that princess wanted to be kidnapped! The game was a nice throwback to the classics and had enough twists to keep it fresh.

Indigo League of Legends

Glad to hear there aren’t any performance issues. This is my favorite game in the series and I’m always looking for more excuses to go back to it! Sure, it’s not as flashy or streamlined as P5, but the characters are really something else and I’ve never liked a cast in a game more than in P4!

I will happily buy my favorite Persona game for a third time, haha!

“Nothing” might be a bit strong, but yeah so much of what it does for the VII universe is either pointless or badly written. I do think the parts that highlight what happened in the VII flashbacks are good: the Nibel incident with the fight against Sephiroth and the final stand in particular. And while those were done

Thank you! I’ve been saying this for years! It was a good looking game that played well, but it had terrible writing! I’m convinced that people remember it fondly because the frankly incredible ending tricked enough people into retroactively thinking the rest of it was good.

I just remember playing the original and breathing this big sigh of relief when the team finally made it to the end of the highway section. It felt like such a great end to a story arc and I remember then getting really excited for what comes next! So yeah, I feel like that also would’ve been a great place to end this

What? You mean I can’t bring up someone’s past work in comparison to what they’re doing now? So when discussing the Star Wars sequels or prequels, I can’t talk about any obvious patterns in George Lucas’ work? It’s true it’s not a purely objective observation of a piece of work, but that is quite impossible for

Yeah, they know how to make a beautiful looking game, a wonderful sounding game, and a mechanically sound one. But when it comes to storytelling, they seem stuck in this late 90s/early 2000s mindset of making it as much like an anime as they can. It’s so strange.

Also a possibility. We’ll likely see a lot of things play it out the same, then the group realizes they have the power to change the outcome, so we’ll see them actively changing certain events for the better. Which will make the death of Aerith all the more tragic again because they’ll really try and stop it, but

Had no idea, but I do not blame someone from wanting to get away from it, haha

There was also time travel shenanigans inexplicably included in the sequels, so... Oh man...

Hey, we’re aware that hundreds of people are on the development team (the credits are amazing), but you’re telling me you don’t see Nomura’s fingerprints all over certain things in this game? The one black wing design on Sephiroth absent in the original, but was used in Kingdom Hearts, Advent Children, and the

The thing about Zack though, is that you only get the slightest of hints about him in Midgar, in Mideel, so yeah, it’s not a lot. But it’s not supposed to make the player go, “Who is this and why is he important?” and more like “Oh that’s nice. Some random dude has history in this world.” and you don’t suspect that he

It could be 7 seconds, I guess? But that would make more sense if this was a vision of Sephiroth he had right before the impalement happens! My guess is that he’s just saying there’s 7 seconds left to decide if this is the path Cloud wants to choose? But again, I have no idea what he’s going on about so whatever.

Yeah, I’ve had this same thought having seen it a few days ago. I’ve played the original several times, so I know the beats really well. It started out with me going, “Oh this is great! It’s so friendly to people unfamiliar with the original that they can play this no problem!” and then time wraiths from The Flash

So wait, you just get summons from some Shinra intern? Feels like it demystifies summon materia a little, don’t you think... Like, materia is everywhere in the original, but summons were one of a kind, almost like they were unique fossils of the planet’s memory similar to the Weapons. I guess this was the only way to

Man, the original’s introduction to Sephiroth was brilliant! Just waking up in the cell to see the door open, blood and slash marks everywhere, gradually making your way through the building to see the last of his work at the top. And all without ever seeing him. It perfectly sets the tone for the ghost chase the game
