Personally, I prefer that some jackass not blow himself up on a train I am on. Or pull out an AK47 and start shooting

Once in a blue moon they set up a security desk and check IDs and do random searches of luggage (akin to those random secondary screenings right before you board at the airport).

Someone can take over the train and hold us passengers hostage.

Have you seen what F1 tickets cost? $5400 bucks is cheap for an on-track experience, good on him.

FWIW - I’m a business traveler and far prefer Hertz. I’ve just never had a problem with Hertz in all my rentals. At the margin they seem more generous with the manager upgrade (where you get a much nicer car than what I paid for and they are more likely to offer that courtesy ride back to the terminal when I’ve got my

Blockbuster used to pull this same shit. It’s ultimately what killed them and allowed Netflix to win.

That headline. Just had to make sure you were not going to pick on this guy:

Really? (looks back at pictures of the Veyron and Veyron Super Sport) Yes, you’re right. They deserve some credit for making significant changes to pretty much all the panels.

Your expectation is correct. Kelly Blue Book said new car prices in 2021 grew about 12% ($41K ->$46K average new car price).

OMG - total outstanding car loan debt went up 5.75% year over year...

(kinja’d)

Interesting that your mind went there. That first picture immediately had me thinking of sagging

Dallas always amazes me when I land there, even a normal flight seems to drive around for 1/2 an hour on the ground to get from runway to the gate.

Yup they happen - just to be clear, my point was that they are less frequent than takeoff waits so the pilot is going to give you an explanation when they happen. I was making the point that just saying nothing -

a 3 hr takeoff hold happens, but on landing? Have you ever seen a hold on landing (plane not rolling) of more than 5 minutes without some explanation from the pilot?

Agree with everything you wrote, similar conclusion to a comment I made.

The article could have a much, much clearer.

RE: McDonald’s logo placement lower on the hood - looks intentional so that the M is visible in front shots of the car.  The 43 car in 2020 had it further up on the hood and the tops of the M disappear in front shots.

Agreed, I don’t know why they needed to do that. The sidewalls on a racing tire are much wider. I doubt the wheel wells would ever wrap that much around under the tire as well.  And the lack of suspension travel is just plain embarassing.

The average reader probably understood ‘make’ to be a revenue number, not a net profit. (It would be depressing to describe what I ‘make’ at my job on an after tax basis...).
