I really liked the Rapid Blue as well.  My family talked me out of it and I ordered mine as the Ceramic Matrix Grey instead.

Cool. I was meaning to refer to Luc Donckerwolke the overall head of design for Hyundai, not the lead designer for this specific model.  

I think it is much more likely that the German influence is due to the fact that both the current Head Designer and his predecessor at Hyundai are both Germans that designed for the VW group earlier in their careers.

Get the magnetic shocks, the soft mode for those is quiet nice on the C7 for cruising, no reason for it to be different on the C8.
