Sorry, got my LT’s backwards in this post, fixed it in the second one.

Just to put some numbers behind COMTNDRVR’s very correct point

Seriously, what is the point of this article? The title should be “So weird - Dealers don’t have a car they couldn’t order on their lots today”.

Cool. I was meaning to refer to Luc Donckerwolke the overall head of design for Hyundai, not the lead designer for this specific model.

I think it is much more likely that the German influence is due to the fact that both the current Head Designer and his predecessor at Hyundai are both Germans that designed for the VW group earlier in their careers.

For 90% of us, it doesn’t matter what winter tire you are using. Like me, you’ll be surrounded by jackasses driving on balding all-seasons and won’t be able to drive anywhere. (unless there is a nice shoulder on the highway. I’d never condone driving down the un-plowed shoulder to get around these folks, but sometimes

And this one:

As far as remembering to set it back and such... By the time they’ve practiced and done a few laps that will be muscle memory.

Get the magnetic shocks, the soft mode for those is quiet nice on the C7 for cruising, no reason for it to be different on the C8.

Yup, I ordered mine at MSRP as well. Went 3LT Z51.

Does it have a soft electronic chirp when you click the door locker twice, or does it honk the horn like an asshole?

Agreed, that was my point.  It’s pretty hard to buy/sell a car without transferring the title, but plenty of gaps where a car can get repaired from a collision and not get reported to CarFax.

Nice info, thx.  So broadly CarFax only sees the reassignments so the various dealers don’t count as owners.  I’ve seen CarFax get mixed up when the title transfers from the lender to the owner on payoff, sometimes that gets counted as two owners, when the market would really consider that a 1-owner vehicle.

Yes I’m going to agree, if you get past the power symbol, and think of it as a pointer to the volume level that the unit will turn on at, maybe that settles the obsessiveness?  Of course if the steering wheel buttons override all that, we’re back to square one.

The vehicle registration / title information is very reliable, there are not very many cars being bought/sold/driven without being registered with a state.

Oh boy, let’s get a bit more specific here and answer the question properly.

Doesn’t matter how great the brakes are, less rubber on the road is going to make it harder to stop.  Where brake size / performance really matters is for repeated braking performance, for cooling and preventing fade.

Yes, I saw that too, too bad the article doubled-down on the mistake.

1) the Caddy is hideous, I agree the lincoln is not.

I’m going to agree. I really don’t like much of anything that Mercedes produces, but this car got a double-take from me the first time I saw one at the shopping mall. Interesting enough that I took a walk around it.
