There’s also Twitch Prime -- anyone with Amazon Prime gets a ‘free’ sub to any one streamer they can use once every 30 days.

I’m not a big twitch follower, but watching this blow up over the past few days on reddit has been wild. I’m very much in the “believe women” camp, but this whole thing has left a very sour taste in my mouth.
Tell me you didn’t read the article without telling me you didn’t read the article.
I think you’re off base on this. Some of the streamers listed were for sure affected by the misogyny and racism on the platform. What’s probably pushing this is that the misogyny, racism, etc, is coming from the audience. That’s a much thornier problem to tackle from the stream *or* Twitch level.
You’re making a number of assumptions about my personal situation there, friend. You make a valid point that about certain states and their emergency rooms, but you should be careful about trying to personalize that to people whom you don’t know their particulars.
So, when you typed this comment out, what did you think you were contributing to the discussion? Are you insulting a woman of means for having those means? Or do you think this is a cynical ploy to... what, exactly?
I sympathize with the intent of this drive, to avoid uncritically espousing racist ideas and beliefs in a fantasy setting. I feel like large swathes of this miss the forest for the trees, probably because this isn’t a monolithic movement but rather a general consensus of differing opinions and ideals.
When they’re saying they want a Nintendo Direct what they’re *really* saying is they wish Nintendo had more news to give us, which I guess is a fair argument. Modern game development seems to be stuck between two opposing forces: Re-Invent the Wheel every damned game and Churn out Mass Produced Sequels.
This followup question is so American it hurts me.
Is now finally the time to bite the bullet and try Anthem? The Bob Dylan of Gaming?
Probably not.
Thank you, I feel like I’m taking crazy pills with how many dudebros saw this trial and thought “Surely this guy who had two judgements against him for beating his wife was the hero all along.”
Man, KOTOR was a fantastic game from start to finish. KOTOR II feels like someone wished for a sequel on a monkey’s paw, and the curse continues to this day.
Since her parents immigrated, they’d be the ‘first generation’ of immigrants. If I understand the terminology correctly, being the child of people who immigrated makes you a ‘second generation’ immigrant.
The craziest thing for me is that I loved everything about the River City Girls game, except the ending. I was stunned that the ending was SO bad. I was a bit surprised they announced a sequel, considering just how offputting the ending to the first one was.
Honestly, it’s better to just keep the comics and the live action as two seperate multiverses. (What’s the term for multiple Multiverses? Omniverse?)
Statute of limitations is out on this one, man.
Yeah, there seems to be a lot of lift between ‘sell your house’ and ‘a majority of people’.
I agree that it’s not as ludicrous as it sounds on it’s face. If you’re taking a presumably one way trip to Mars, sure, sell that house and your assets, whatever.
They really, *really* need to get Amazon on board or something and restart the series from scratch. An 40 year old media property cobbled together from the scraps of other shows (and that one movie 15 years ago)... they just need to start over and try to win new fans and keep the old ones.
Same, I’m pretty sure I expressed doubt in a Kotaku article about upcoming 2022 games, and people were like “no, surely...” about it.
It was astonishing that the studio that did a great job at ME3 multiplayer was given the reins on a whole sequel and managed to even bungle the part they were good at.
