Patrick - I have no doubt they intended to say that the energy used that was normally destructive in a Mass Relay explosion was repurposed into the red/green/blue effect.

First point: The craziest people on the side of changing it do not represent all people on the side of changing it.

If this is the sort of inspired commentary we can expect from 'starred' Kotaku commenters, I'm *glad* I don't have a star.

Oh, Marauder Shields. Why didn't I listen?

Fish? Really? Well, I bought every fish I found, and the auto fish feeder, because I'm a dork like that. :)

I'd ask that you don't conflate the people asking Mass Effect to reconsider the ending with 'that guy' talking to the FTC.

Yeah, it does fill up before you get the optimal ending. I know. :/

I would disagree that the two sides are mutually exclusive. If the ending to Mass Effect 3 is art, we are critiquing it as 'poor art'.

From what I hear (I haven't played Deus Ex HR), ME basically *swiped* the Deus Ex HR ending. ^^;

I think there's one thing that people misunderstand.

I can honestly say, before I got there I thought it would be no big deal.

So you had over 10,000 Total Military Strength? I'd be really curious how you pulled that off, since I did every side quest in the game and only came out in the mid 7 figures.

Unfortunately, Bioware wasn't entirely truthful. It doesn't appear to be possible to get over 4k without some additional source of Galactic Readiness, which is what is required to get the 'best' ending.

The figuring seems to be you need at least over 4000 for the 'best' ending, which involves playing a match or two.

I'll concede that this could be a slippery slope, but I disagree that Bioware should take that stand here.

Well, to be fair, complaining *might* change the endings. But I agree that people shouldn't be trying to bring legal action against them.

You can handwave that away by saying that the Alliance has had Reaper IFF tech for 6 months, and that isn't the sort of things the Reapers could reprogram very easily in the Mass Relays.

Emeff - Why should people 'deal and move on'?

It's a difficult spot to be in for Bioware, to be sure. But your last little bit there is somewhat... schoolyard, isn't it?

I think that the main crux of the argument isn't that the conclusion was too finite. It just didn't make sense.
