    Caprica

Ron Moore tried to dupe the world into thinking he actually worked on a BSG prequel. We were excited for a BSG prequel. To hear his chain of rationalizations is a thing to behold....

The problem is that they physically didn't have the time to work even on BSG itself, the show was falling apart at the seems

This isn't so much "would have been better separately" as "studio meddling screwed them over". Have you seen the GORGEOUS behind the scenes footage from this movie? They made *fully realized practical effects puppets* which look genuinely terrifying. It's not that the finished movie had outright "bad" CGI, but you

Actually, and quite ironically, this is a reverse example: the original plan was to make it a straightforward prequel, but then they waffled around and decided to make it a separate continuity.....yet made this decision so vague (still wanting to cash in on Alien fans buying tickets) that many people including you

Were you *alive* int he 1990s? It was *Alien 3* that killed the franchise. Alien:Resurrection was a last gasp to save it - yes it changed Whedon's original script, but it's still a very solid, good movie. Dude...Alien 3 was the one that needlessly brought Ripley back after her story was over. Resurrection

Question: how much does it deal with issues of transhumanism? That is (a bit like upcoming film "Transcendence") that Murphy plus a few cybernetic brain uplinks has fundamentally changed this thought-processes?
Maybe that's why they let him retain his original memories from the get-go in this movie — to better

    Now playing

Bullock may have committed literally countless acts of police brutality, but he gets results damn it!

This Underwood speaks of the people as if he were a God to punish, not a man of their infirmity.

He slipped the surly bonds of Earth.

I had the same feeling watching this: it was generally a good episode, but more than ever I can really tell that they're airing the episodes out of production order. It didn't outright ruin the episode, but it was noticeable. The problem of course being that any "arc" to the Kennex-Dorian partnership of

    Cursed be this Kanan design.

That reporter should not have insulted Samuel L. Jackson. That actor's work in The Shawshank Redemption moved me to tears.

It looks like some sort of laser reflection disk.

Can the cast finally stop pretending to like those idiotic bubble-heads! Those *WERE NOT* action figures!

No. In the first "N" example you added an even number of positive and negative ones to get zero. In the second, you added an odd number so that there would be a remaining one. No, you did not "simply" move around the parentheses. Moving parenthesis redefines the entire equation.
    This sort of "mathemagician" stuff

Why didn't they sell him to the private buyer? Wouldn't that have simply been more profitable?

As it stands, maybe they should have sold the giraffe meat on the open market, to take advantage of the fact that recently giraffe meat was officially ruled to be kosher. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews…

All that Starfleet asks of redshirts is that they stand to hold the line, and that they die fighting.

    (repost)

Dinosaurs only went extinct in the Americas, which is ultimately where modern humans evolve. Millions of years later, when they first contact each other, the humans are basically at a Stone Age level of technology....while the dinosaurs have evolved to the point that all of their technology is based on bioengineering

Lesser of two evils: if they cut 20 minutes, the movie would be so unintelligible that it would have bombed at the box office anyway, and been out of theaters in two weeks. With a limited release, it's still out of theaters in two weeks due to low demand/publicity.
***The difference is that had they made a cut

You see, what we're talking about here is an organism that imitates other life-forms, and it imitates them perfectly. When this thing attacked our dogs it tried to digest them... absorb them, and in the process shape its own cells to imitate them. This for instance. That's not dog. It's imitation. We got to it before
